Kids are soft and our advertising targeted younger cucked kids instead of trying to target people our age on snes Rom sites and stuff like that. You could tell the end was happening not just based on population but because the new players were retarded and couldn't figure out events like journey or glider. At this point nobody wants to stop stacking because new players are huge faggots who don't want to put in the time benching and earning a spot in the lineup, not to mention them being annoying dipshit on chat. The top players at this point are all friends and I can't blame them for not wanting to babysit. This isn't the sk8 and quicksand era anymore.
i love when folks shit on kids like kids aren't absolutely a reflection of the generation that raised, shaped and molded them

at the end of the day the only answer to the perceived problem that this thread addresses is personal preference: as the community shrinks, and the talent begins to stratify, its basically up to you to decide if it's worth it or not to try to continue breaking into the ranks of the more elite players. no doubt it was easier for someone to reach that level a decade ago, for me the go-to example is rejected basers basically growing an entire generation of people that are now almost all considered all-time greats, and they did that shit in like a year

so its like, unfortunately it's a no-win situation: pretty much everyone in this thread is saying "you gotta earn it like i did", and conveniently forgets how easy by comparison that was to do back in the day. the alternative, however, would all but destroy the entire concept that twl is built on, which is pure competition between the best. only thing you can do is enjoy it while it lasts, anything else is moonshine. also this is a great metaphor for our society in general. also fuck you field, you know what you did, better grow eyes not only in the back of your head but also your perennium and also your rectum.

ill just say this: the next time you're taking a piss, and you get done, and you do the shake, and you evenreach up under your ballsack and give it a press, clearing the last bit of piss from the pisstube - and you STILL feel a drip or two of urine somehow managing to dribble down your thigh as you leave the restroom, you can thank field. it's a long story.

after looking at my post again i should go ahead and smooth it out a bit by saying its probably not a "conveniently forgetting that it was easier" type thing - i think that doesn't reflect on the fact that regardless of time period, you still have to put in work to be the best. but i think its fair to say the reward/payoff was waaay higher in the past - can you imagine putting in work nowadays to earn the respect of the people who currently dominate the server?

anyways i dont really know where to post this so i will do it here: it occurred to me the other day that even from the start i was really anti-trump, and while thats not news, what did occur to me that was new was that my distrust was rooted in some tw history: trump being president of the usa is, and i cannot emphasize this enough, exactly like when i was captain of disoblige: the way people reacted, the way i thought of myself and talked about it, and of course, the actual results and turnout. so yeah when he first started doing his thing, i knew immediately how awful things were gonna get, because real recognize real, and that dude is jeroming hard

I disagree, squads look pretty balanced actually. I thought it?d be like in EG when it was just blood and exalt going at it every league.. this is far from stacking especially when these swuads only have like 10-15 players each. It took some time adapting to this zone but starting to finally get confident, especially in base/jav. You try playing eg?s fast pace settings for close to 20 years and them starting this zone.. not easy. From what I have seen, only commodo has done this.

Anyways looking for a squad! Dedicated, show every week, and active.

It looks like this season might even surpass that quota in warbird. TWL is competition at the highest level, and the players who are at that level are the people playing for the most prestigious championships in the game. It's on the rest of the playerbase to improve.

This pretty much sums up what almost every veteran in the game believes:

                  1. Stacking is defined by having entire lines of TWL-caliber players sitting on the bench, NOT having an elite starting line
                  2. This league has no obligation to cater to new players in any way

Those are the correct opinions. The issue is new players feeling they're entitled to being in a line with elite players and win a TWL title as a starter. That is basically what TWDT was for most of its history: 3-4 elite players with 1-2 low-stars.

That sense of entitlement is hurting your development as a player. You don't magically become a great player by playing TWL on an elite squad. It's 7 weeks long. You become great by practicing, learning, and moving up through various leagues and gaining experience. Everyone who is going to win TWL this season is already elite. They put in the work years prior.

Most of us played on bad squads with no chance of winning TWL for years to gain experience. It doesn't make you better, it just helps you stabilize your nerves for big games. You get better playing Elim, TWD, TSL, TWEL, Pub, etc.

There are guides on forums for every ship posted over the years, there's tons of TWL video you can watch to learn from the best.

Once you're good, you gain exposure to future TWL leagues by impressing people in TWDT or Elim. But forget exposure, none of you even bothered to get good yet. Elim has NO TEAMS and your elim ratings are shit.

You're both negative in Elim, where there are no teams "stacking" against you.

Every single league in the game (besides TWL) caters to new players, and provides stepping stones to TWL. I recommend using them to get good. If you do, elite squads will come calling. Nobody recruits Steadman because of his personality, yet almost every contender wants him.

If you were #1 or #2 in elim someone would recruit you to their TWDD team to test you out in a 5v5 setting, and if you performed, they'd strongly consider you to start TWLD on their elite squad or at the very least be a key piece. But you're #35.

As I mentioned earlier. I respect the newly formed squads with new talent or old talent that has not been recognized or the few vets who decided to create something new like Monster has. Monster and Sweet and Marksmin and Ambush and Exanimum are mixing things up. Paladen is back too! I respect these squads the most this TWL. It is frustrating to see these
old guard squads who didn't try something different. Not to mention a few players on them love to berate the common player and act all elitist.

If people want to keep me posting they are welcome to troll. =)

Anyway, Ogron you were on bad squads for years? And then you magically got good? Sounds like B.S to me. It's not that hard to be good at the game and it doesn't require years of being on bad squads. In fact years of bad squads is more likely to keep you at the same level, since you are practicing bad habits over and over again with no clear example for improvement to follow. So either you aren't talented enough or you never actually "got good" but rather just increased your social status and perceived image of skill within the game so that "good" squads and captains would recruit you and then you could get carried by skilled players.

It happens all the time, in fact that is one of the primary purposes of stacking. To improve your image of skill. It doesn't necessarily mean you are good. You can take most skilled players and put them on a shitty team and they will under-perform or look subpar.

That's also the literal point of trash talking "look at me i'm good, notice me, ADMIRE me" *I am talking in a public chat calling others "ez" and "trash" to show how strong and elite I am at the game, to change public opinion of me* This why Ogron trash talks other players, when perceptions change he gets recruited to better teams and even the dumbest noob can look good and improve and maybe even become skilled one day from that point.

Also funny that my aim in Elim is 64% probably due to not enough data... but this is given the fact that I just mess around in elim. I only ever would try during an official league match. Interesting that I'm not a pro but I have the attitude of some of the best pros in the game. Even my preference of a screen res being 1366 x 768 is similar to some "pro" players, and I just entered TW "yesterday" and found that similarity out.

Why am I rank 109 after 5 games? Is elim out of 109 people or something? Wasn't TW a zone of 800 players? How am I 109 so fast? Looks bad for TW. Either population is bad (inactive/low), or players are.

I'm pretty sure I have 20 hours a day to get on a good squad. My point was though that most people are not me and Ogron, and have a life because they are 34 now not 14. I don't actually want to join any of the squads. If I cared about the league I would make a squad, but DT is boring for me and basing only uses 3 ships with 1 entrance which is also boring. No offense, TW is a good zone, it's just personally I find the gameplay less engaging than other zones. The only thing that might interest me is Jav Duel, since it requires some brain cells to be good at.

That being said, this isn't about me even though you love to talk about me and I love to talk about me.

It's about league being accessible to everyone and balanced teams... no one here argued they wanted to be apart of a team with pros to win league. It has nothing to do with winning, and in fact if teams were more balanced, there is less a guarantee of winning, which is essentially what you are against. You want every 10 star player so you can win a boring league and act like it's meaningful.. it's similar to me knowing martial arts and beating up a retard, should I feel proud of my win? The answer is no. I should feel ashamed.

I would argue the sense of entitlement works minimally both ways, but is mostly the other way around, it's the elitists who are entitled.

Yo, you guys are fucking stupid. I voiced *concern* over the fact that there are only 3 squads competing in TWL and somehow that was perceived as me whining that I wasn't on one of them or someshit. 3 or even 4 squads doesn't seem like much of a "league" to me, sorry to step on fat pussies with my opinion on that. It was out of *concern* believe it or not that I made this thread, I was only hoping for more games to be played and less predictability this TWL. I stand corrected! What a shady, scrubby, illegitimate piece of trash I am fo dis, thank goodness so many humbled vets put me in my place. I was hoping we could have a civil conversation or even just a conversation. All you ancient fucks love to reference TWL of old, when we had a healthy population can suck my dick though.. actually nevermind, too many of you enjoy it.

Get real yo, we have like 100 people now. Oh my bad, did I just step on another glorified assgina fo sayin truth? Excuse me for this thread, mean that but am happy for it too in a way, got to see the true colors of a lot of you fucks I thought were chill. It really surprised me that a lil bitty pixel medal would mean so much to yall. I actually laugh in real life thinking about it. Good for you guys! Stack away, I take back everything I said here. Let it be the best of the best, all 25 of yous. As it's been pointed out by so many here, I am clearly not and thus you should just disregard this thread on that alone, not sure why you'd waste the time humoring the concern of some pubtrash noobie like myself that is akin to Falconeer. Baffling stuff honestly.

                        Fuck you.

I actually think TWL will have some good competition across the board. You cant expect all squads to be even like in TWDT so thats fine.

TWLD: Seems like there are 4 squads capable of making finals in Rage, Monster, Thunder, Sweet. The others will have battles within themselves to make playoffs with Haunt, Exanimum, Marksmin, Spastic, Paladen, Wolf.

TWLJ: Seems like only 3 squads capable of making finals with Rage, Thunder, and Spider. Monster could make a statement if they add a couple of javs. Haunt and Exan could compete if they add a few extra key players as well.

TWLB: 4 clear top teams with Thunder, Rage, Spastic, and Spider. 8 squads total is good for TWL for 2019.

I thought the community was going to be responsible and spread talent out as much as possible to ensure this TWL wasn't so one sided, mismatched and limited to a few squads able to compete for one of the greatest achievements this game has to offer.
Monster, Thunder, Rage, Sweet, Marksmin, Spider, haunt, Wolf, Spastic, Examinum, Paladen... I see 11 squads right now. The squads you named have around 10-14 players on their rosters, so size clearly isn't the issue (Spastic and Paladen have like 28 people on their rosters).

As we explained to you, the talent is spread out. Nobody has stacked a second TWL line into their roster like in years past (i.e., the definition of stacking.)

You want a league with a perfectly even distribution of talent, and as we told you, that league already exists, it's called TWDT.

I don't want to play in a league with 8 teams with perfectly distributed talent, because it means I have to play with scrubs detaching into mines, no awareness, bad aim or an inability to team, huge shark gaps, crazy bad terring that costs you your season, people who don't know even the basic burst patterns and get destroyed under, etc.

I already do that in TWDT. Carrying bad/newer players is a skill, and part of being a complete player, but veterans don't want to do it all the time. I can't explain to you how many basers hate TWDT and hate playing ?go base with bad players. It's a frustrating experience playing with people who haven't even mastered the fundamentals.

The reason you've received such a negative response is that TWL is the ONLY league where you can play with a real line, and you're trying to take that away.

That crazy bad terring costs a twdtb title yea

I think playing with a scrub in a big jav match is worse than in a base match, but thats my opinion.
I guess that also depends on which league you enjoy or "take serious" the most.

I have to say, the "talent" has been spread out more than i thought it would. I even see the old groups adepting new people, like thunder with kado. Rage has some new if you compare that to the old cobra group.
