Bought a new monitor, need help!

Ok... so I just bought a new widescreen monitor, because my other one decided to just fucking die on me today. Well... long story short... I bought one that can go to a res of 1920x1080. The thing is... I don't know how to make my res that high!

I go the the properties panel... and all I can go up to is 1680x1050... which was the max for my old monitor. This one clearly states that it can go up to 1920x1080 1080p HD... but... how? I know I won't have the 1080p unless I use the special plug for it... I mean... I have one for my xbox360... but wtf. Is there something I need to do with my graphics card to make it go to 1920 res?

I have a Geforce 9600 GT btw... in case you need to know that. Am I limited with my res because of the gfx card... or am I doing something wrong with the monitor? Do I need to install new drivers or something?

Ok... I'm an idiot.

I just downloaded the drivers... and updated my Geforce drivers... and boom... my max res is now 1920x1080. Lol.
