  • HoN - Base - Week 3

Since OG gonna be busy few days, figured i'd write something up. Lets go:

    Paddington vs Pirates (10-15)

Padd while still trying to find their rythm in base took another L this week. I noticed Oder was in spid now, perhaps due to boredom in shark or need for more aggression from spids, either way putting up solid numbers to show he's quite the anyshipper. Terrs and sharks had similiar stats so seems a wash there. I can only guess based on stats (and from playing them the next round) that they likely struggled to break cram and lost to superior cornering/camping.

    HOT: mythril (3.2 rpd, 1 tek), henry (90-36), oder (93-50), shayde (87-39, 1 tek)
NOT: zidane (2.9 rpd) with 10 TKs and no TeKs to show for it; perhaps he was trying to compensate for weaker line by mining all over >.>

    Gryffindor vs Haze (14:52 - 15)

A very close match that could've gone either way. With another absence from Willby, Poni filled in as second shark (unfortunately both his refreshers have been against the tougher teams in base). Haze was looking dominate in the first half with Gryffindor (being fueled by Ogron's rage alone) winning back all their time up until 14m during the second. Haze's spiders all put up solid numbers while Gryff seemed to be having some hiccups in their line. Even with weaker stats, the aggression from Gryff's line was able to keep consistent pressure in FR/cram after a key sub.

HOT: All Haze's spids; Og (43-6, 2 tek), Comm (3.0 rpd, 1 tek), Markmrw (2.9 rpd, 2 tek)
NOT: Terminator who went 17-36 in spid before being sub'd by Anonym.

WIN OR DIE vs Lag & Luck (15 - 14:18)

Another super close match this week from the basing juggernaught WIN|DIE. Bit, joe, nip, and team in a tour de force this season showing that teamwork trumps individual feats of dexterity. Starting off rocky with MeanGene (6-4) in terr, Trasher (23-4, 1 tek) was able to bring Lag&Luck back from a 7m deficit and gene redeeming himself with 79-37 in spid. FA poseidon also able to make an impact with his first match on WIN|DIE.

    HOT: skatarius (123-53, 1 tek), cripple (151-55), poseidon (110-80, 2 tek), bitsaver (38-4, 2 tek), ardour (105-57, 2 tek)
NOT: spacedust having a rough start in spid (16-26) sub'd at 7m along with gene/trash's switch

    Fish vs Mist (15 - 5)

Quite the one-sided match. Not sure what happened here but I'll assume they had trouble breaking cram/cornering as in previous weeks or perhaps getting cheesd by morph/sprackle's prowless with shrap. Mikkiz with his high deaths and couple flag touches was probably trying to drag his team over top on a few occasions.

    HOT: morph (3.0 rpd, 3 tek), sprackle (2.9 rpd, 2 tek), aprix (86-31, 2 tek), zizzo (36-2, 2 tek)
NOT: as much as it pains me, mikkiz (27-11), these high d's are likely from desperation

    Paddington vs Haze (10-15)

Fatigued from our match with Gryffindor, Paddington put up a bit more fight then we had hoped, but ultimately, we were able to take the match through superior control of cram. Poni and Hulk found their timing and were humming like a well-tuned engine pushing everything out. The few occassions that padd was able to get into FR was chaos however; as they were able to secure nearly all 10m with us just sitting in there, thix/zid were often able to rush over top and not get punished for it.

    HOT: wbm (117-52, 1 tek), hulk (3.1 rpd, 1 tek), poni (2.9 rpd), thix (41-4, 1 tek)

    Pirates vs Lag&Luck (12-15)

The stats for each team in this game are identicle in EVERY aspect except for TeKs, it's uncanny (check it out on https://twdt.trenchwars.com/matches). Seems Afghan knew where Major would be before even he did as he popped him 4 times this round.

    HOT: Jamal (3.1 rpd), cripple (120-47, 1 tek), meangene (101-58, 1 tek), afghan (76-50, 4 tek!!)
NOT: major crisis(34-9) for high deaths in terr while sitting behind myth/rodney (3.0 rpd and 1 tek each)

    Gryffindor vs Mist (8-15)

In a complete surprise, Mist took a W from Gryff this week. I can only guess that Ogron was still reeling from his loss earlier to Haze to lose in such as spectacular fashion. Mist had Turban out in spid this round instead of shark which seemed to payoff; Jackie in his place with a respectable 2.8 rpd and 2 teks.

    HOT: Mikkiz (33-4, 3 tek), turban (94-73, 4 teks), Davy (105-52, 2 tek)
NOT: Ogron (47-14, 1 tek), the rage is real

    WIN|DIE vs Fish (15-12)

Win|Die was able to secure their final win this week with near identicle stats aside from +2 more terr deaths. Zizzo (46-3) and Bitsaver (47-5) with an unbelievable performance in terr. Please tell me someone recorded cause i'd love to see what these guys are doing. Although we are playing fish (twice??) next week so I suppose I'll get to see for myself soon enough.

    HOT: bitsaver (47-5), skatarius (105-49, 1 tek), zizzo (46-3)

Nice writeup. I like how you explained the likely reason things happened, rather than just 'x player had good/bad stats, and its all their fault their team won/lost'. As someone who didnt get to see the games, this HoN me a lot more than usual HoNs do, because anyone can look at the final stats and see the LVP/MVP winners each game. What it doesn't always show is why those things happened. You should do these more, if you have time.

nipple & joeses have become a brutal sharkduo, is all I can say after our loss. I was wondering why that team was 5-0 before we had to play em (not hating ,they got some good players) but now I know!

The schedule in the forums has been corrected, but the website still has the old schedule. Check the SCHEDULE thread.

            Nice job SpookedOne.

Ogron's rage is real, I hope the little trip he will make with C?cile and Daddy will calm him down a bit. Dude can't lose without getting in rage, reminds me the fat german who goes crazy and broke his computer in the famous Youtube video.

Concerning my team I hope things gonna be better next week, 2/6 for a team like ours is pretty bad. I felt the week gonna be complicated before it happend, next week we will be ready for war.

Also schedule has been changed, you don't play Fish twice, the website has not been updated that's all.

Honestly, having both sharks + terr on discord helps make up for my lack of skill .
Siaxis> yo it was way harder to kill Rage then beam in that dtd

rylo> 1.5 mil for whoever kills renzi
                (10 seconds later)
rEnZi is out. 17 kills 10 deaths. 2 players remain.
P TW-Pub> rylo sent you $1,500,000, you now have $4,047,199.

If you're going to do a thing you should to it to the best of your ability or don't do it at all.

nah it really shows that by statistical underdogs (truth, as Joe and RageR by initial numbers are the weakest shark duo at the start of the season in comparison to garugatan duos such as Zid/Oder and Mhz/Mark), teamwork changes everything, along with fair terr by WingZ. Hope WoD continues to do well in base. #ripchildren has to carry WoD's jav team.

Good write-up Spooked, thanks for this.

I def blew the second game, was tilted from losing 15-14:52 and some mans ramming multiple mines.

                    A well-deserved NOT!

I'll try to finish up my entire HoN by Thursday. Jav and WB are done.
