have ratings change week to week depending on how well or poorly that person did. youd either have to put a hard cap on the number of 10s 9s and on down for each or youd have to modify the star limit of lines week to week. youd probably have to put a cap on the amount an individual's rating could change week to week. there are other huge challenges like people purposefully throwing recs when a game is already won or dealing with how to change an individuals rating when they bench for multiple weeks. no idea how to deal with sharks either.

its an idea. maybe not a great one because of significant logistical barriers, but its an idea.

So when a cap drafts all the good value players, then u whack them up to 10* so that team can't field anyone...
      Yeah. gud1. :P

thats why the overall caps would have to change and/or youd have to set some upper limits to the number of 10s per team or in the league altogether

it would probably force some interesting lines though. it would also probably force parity. youd get fewer squads going on extended winning or losing streaks. as a team wins, it gets tougher, as they lose, easier

its probably a pretty bad idea, but thinking about the statistics behind it would be interesting.

          its basically handicapping squads.

if you want to improve TWDT, maybe don't let low-star, one-leaguers cap.

none of them have ever won or made the finals, and none has made the playoffs since 2012.

I am a non-leaguer... Yet I won in my first season..

I think the 'problem' is with these players have to vs multi league talents or an experienced cap like tiny.
And we both know we have been struggling to get those vets you want to cap. Its not out of luxury these low stars have capped in the last seasons.

you've played in multiple TWDT-J, TWDT-D, and TWDT-B finals, you're an actual jav and baser who can play shark and terr at a solid level, and you're an OK 7-star in wb... that's not comparable to nipple, afghan, TJ, ixador, and skyforger who are 1-leaguers and not even 9 in their main ship and contribute nothing in the other two leagues.

you provide across-the-board value, not a good comparison at all.

It’s funny that every year people try and come up with these crazy outlandish things to try for next league. Realistically, none of these ideas would ever go through or be attempted due to the extremity of the idea in addition to no one being willing to run a league with that idea (bc the person that comes up is not someone that would run a league). The best idea is to stick with what works and don’t try and fix what’s not broken. I digress though. To ogrons point, I agree it’s an incredible disadvantage to be a low star cap. It’s a lot harder than it looks drafting for 3 leagues as it is and then throw in the low star value you bring and on top of that going against caps that have played tw for 15 years whom have capped for 5+ seasons. There’s an insane advantage that vet caps have simply from the fact that they can text an old player to sign on that they’ve played with for 10 years when someone like me relies on another player with those connections. On the other hand, I do think there is value in experience and I think that I could for sure do better the second time around if given the opportunity to learn from my mistakes (not saying I would necessarily volunteer). It really does take doing it to really get an idea of how to be a successful cap. It was fun at times but definitely frustrating but at least I was able to contribute to keeping the 8 team TWDT going despite my failures.

Unless we did 6 teams... that could work.

TWL could be fun, but I think that could be quite thin as well.

I'd be up for another TWDT, but maybe include an additional spider league. It has so much potential for a 5v5 league.
A DT with a 5v5 spider league would be incredible. Yes I am biased but I don't give a fuck.

Though, I do want a TWL. Or something different, just not three draft tournies in a row!

I have reached a final once as an 8 star. Rest all have been as 6 or 7. Its not like I have the advantage of not having to pick the big stars in each league. The only thing thats good for me, is not having to look for a terr or shark.

Like I stated before, as new captain Its important Who you first pick. If you pick a top player who capped multiple times, you can count on him to help you out. My first season I picked a team with my team. If I had to do it all by myself it would have been more drama too. And you gotta know which people you have to avoid.

Afghan was a good cap and stayed extremely positive even though we were absolute ass every single week and I agree that if given the opportunity to cap again he will do a lot better with what he's learned from this experience.

Also aside from tj hazuki who is a piece of shit as a person and a player all of those red names you listed that didn't make playoffs were first time captains who didn't get an opportunity to captain a second time.

I think twdt is the best league for the zone.

The problem this season was that the skill level between caps was too big, and nothing was done to counter it. Afghan had to make up his own 7-7-7 rating compared to some very experienced/skilled 10-10-8 rated captains. And with a declining amount of 'great' players who sign up, it's not like any of the 28* rated captains will 'skip' over some great players to get a 21* player early on. So in the end Afghan has to choose between being below average in all leagues or 'skipping' one league. Both is not good for the draft league. Thus I can't blame Criminal for now forfeiting in base the last weekend, I applaud them for how well they did (and Demacia too).

                            My solution:
First round of draft each captain is limited in picking their first player based on his own rating compared too the lowest/highest rated captain.
                            Example we have 8 captains:
                            A) 28*
                            B) 28*
                            C) 27*
                            D) 26*
                            E) 25*
                            F) 24*
                            G) 23*
                            H) 21*

I would give the lowest captain 'first' choice and let him pick any player from 28* (same as highest rated captain) or lower. Then the 23* player can pick any player from 26* or lower etc., all the way to the 28* player who can only pick a player of 21* or lower (the same as the lowest rated captain). This way all captains have about the same starting 'capital', and we don't have to worry about either finding 8 similarly rated captains (on the high or low end, which is impossible to get). After that the draft continues in snake order, and captains pick whoever they want to create competitive lines across the leagues.

I'm not sure if you meant this but the snake would have to begin after round 2 for that to make sense. So for example you have a modified round 1 of 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 then round 2 would have to be 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 again with round 3 being 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 then snake from there.

This is a pretty unnecessary change though, since if you actually look at the drafts since the 40 star cap was implemented, the higher star caps tend to take lower overall star value players with their first couple picks anyway.
