ok, humid if you need help just ask me in game, i have played egdl for three seasons and i have a pretty good understanding of draft leagues in general. the value points system is NECESSARY, and i will tell you why. a draft league's BEST impact on the zone is that it gives new players a chance to play with experienced players and learn from them. THE ONLY WAY THAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN IS IF YOU MAKE IT **MANDATORY** THAT NEW PLAYERS ARE INCLUDED IN EVERY GAME. and the ONLY way to distinguish between a "new player" and an "experienced player" is through a value rating system. everyone should know that when they signup for this draft league, the value rating is being assinged IMPARTIALLY, and that it is a rating based on their skill, activity, leadership, ability to play many ships, etc. to make everyone know the ratings are impartial as possible, form a little group to decide the value on each player. make sure the group is full of experienced, and ACTIVE players, who know what they are talking about. if people don't like their rating, tough shit.

And by the way, I am currently the only one running this with some help from PL; so some of these ideas are a bit ambitious for 1 man, but I'll see what I can do. Alias checking should be fairly easy and I may eliminate the waiver's thing to prevent any aliasing and make everyone's life easier. I do like the trades though, so I think I'll be keeping that. And btw Voth, this is currently your space filler until Mirr is ready to go with TWL. Continue with the feedback, I'd love to hear it.

Edit: Oh yeah and lizard, talk to me about it on squad chat and I'll see what I can do in terms of hooking up radio w/ the inside scoop
if you think it's too ambitious i'd be willing to help with the star system. ultimately if it makes this work (it would give it a much stronger chance) then i'm in favour. new players excited about a league they've never been in are more likely to show than old players expecting a league they've seen fail many times. you'd have to devise some system, i'd get into talks with the eg mods humi and definitely talk to some of the tw players who played in the egdl (flabby <ER> who is one of the most dedicated refs out there played in it and i'm sure he'd be more than willing to help).

Draft league is the thing where captains take turns and pick players right? Why the hell would you let them trade after, don't, just don't, seriously, don't.

ok now that i got that off my chest, let me just explain a few things:

    1. you need to first and foremost, develop a system of value points which will identify each player with a value. within that value point system must be designated values for new players. then you must make it mandatory for a certain number of low value players to be played in each match. this will make it so new players get to play and it's not just the top lineup of the team.

    2. you have to check EVERY alias you don't recognize

    3. you're rushing into this dude, a draft league is very complex and that set of rules is laughable if you think it covers even 1/8 of the in's and out's of a draft league. seriously man, if you go ahead with it like this, it will just be another twdt failure. maybe wait until after twl for this because seriously, lol...

lol this is going to be epic fail, if you want this league to not suck you need to redo.. um, well, you know, everything. why don't you put someone with some experience in charge instead of this assclown?

    Interesting tournament.

I like the idea of a 3 leagued tournament, its been 1 leagued for I dunno how long...change is good, this will prevent 1 team from actually being a 1 leaguer. Knocking off a team with combined scores in all 3 leagues is excellent, me thinks.

The captains will have a hectic time making decisions from the draft. They will think long and hard (kinda of like a body part i own) on choosing someone that plays balanced overall!

    input=....<insert your thought>!

another problem with a knock out system like that is you'll run into the problem of having an odd number of teams every other week.

donno if 8 teams is too ambitious. 8 times 25 is 200 people, we probably had more than that sign up for bwc, and that's usually just basers. what i do think is ambitious is the fact that you plan on having 25 people to a team and still expect it to run actively. could work though.

a ridicilous knock-out system like that will make this a guaranteed failure.

draft leagues only work when the captains are smart enough to focus on less than 3 leagues, or their 'star'-players will get frustrated with having to play with retards at their side, and just give up early on.

i think 8 teams is a bit ambitious?

    fuck trading.

don't let people sign up late for a waiver's list. make sure there's no aliases.

just some random tips from a guy who've seen a draft league fail numerous times.

Humi, if you want I can incorporate radio along with your draft. I volunteer (Or if ppl decide someone else is more suitable) to do sort of a live "On-Air" draft, pick by pick.

feel free to reply here, i am willing to hear feedback, i can still adjust the rules as of now, but i want it that way to create more competition and keep it active. last time the problem was the worse teams just dropped off in activity and no one tried.
