Could anyone please hook me up with a couple of albums that works perfectly as "background music"... you know, to put on when you got people coming over not really disturbing the conversation but you still hear it nicely in the back creating a nice atmosphere..

buy a really shitty coportate rock album, like all american rejects. since only one song is "good" and the rest are filler, it works great. AAR is jerome approved

You can have crappy bg music, or you can have good bg music,
But what’s appropriate background music for the occasion? Is it for liesure? Business? Anyways there are lots to choose from… You could easily have classical, jazz lounge, ambient, acoustics, to whatever else.

                  Here’s a suggestion:
Various Artists in “Chill Pill” (Groove Gravy 2002) CLICK HERE

And check out this downtempo list found at Amazon
Also if you don't wanna buy or whatever for just this occasion I'm sure you'll be able to find them by any other means.

                  Some notable artists:
                  Boards of Canada
                  Lemon Jelly
                  Telepopmusik
                  Thievery Corporation

I could also suggest specific songs but meh... only if you need me to.

Keep in mind it's more than just background music for those with inept ears, but they can easily be used for it :P
hey I'm Paddy Tanniger the caddie manager yeah it rhymes big whoop wanna fiight about it??

The other day, someone mentioned that spybreak never posts on these forums unless it's about trance music. Good to see he fails to dissapoint!

I'd go with Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters. Interesting if you want to zone out the conversation, but when played at a reasonable volume it won't drown out talking.

cool, except nothing I mentioned was trance :P

Also, classic rock might work for your bg music. You never know!

The song, Burzum - Dunkelheit from the album Filosofem is a good background track to me, though some may (probably) disagree.

                            -

The opening drama of "Dunkelheit" is the masterpiece of Burzum's course through the troubled 90s. The absolute black opus of crawling decadence, death and chaotic misery through an eerie narration, distorted vocals followed by a surprising clean-vocal delivery near the end, the keyboards repeating the ominous melody. The definitive soundtrack for the collapsing realities, and the illusions.
