Wireless Internet

I just installed wireless internet on my laptop (D-Link AirPlus 650+) and it is absolutely amazing. I mean, I can play ss on the couch or in my bed with absolutely no wires. If that's not pwnage, then I don't know what is.

Meh, I just thought I'd share that with everyone.

Anyone else have wireless internet? If so, what kind?

How do you do it? Do you run your own server? I heard that McDonald's was thinking about installing wireless internet servers to service their customers.... not sure whatever became of it.

I play from my porch a lot. It's great now that it's really nice outside.

Wireless LAN. (Nit picking). You need a wireless router on your internet connection and a wireless card on your computer. Just like regular ethernet 'cept, look ma, no wires.

I have a Linksys 54G. 54 Mbps 802.11g. It's great to be able to share a connection without a tangle of wires or needing to sit by the router.

My connection reaches across the street but if you needed, say 10 miles, you could always mod up a couple of satellite dishes.

I am looking at the exact same card right now, protruding from my lapper. My router blows though, sometimes my Internet is partially not functioning, as in ICQ, MSN, and IE all don't work, but suprisingly continuum does. Oh well, who's complaining?

If anyone can tell me wth is going on, i'd gladly take your opinions on it.

At my school, they have wireless networks accessible in every room. I just turn on my laptop and once i double click IE, it asks for my studentID and password, then I'm in.

At my school we use wireless internet too. It is so much fun! I can go sit on the roof terras with my laptop and do some forum browsing, subspacing, internetting, e-mail shit and the funny thing is that it costs me zero €/$
