i think it would be a good thing to try like seiferdude say, it couldn't hurt. you'd have to be very selective and also watch the person who applied if the application seemed acceptable. also find out from other staffers what they think of them and then make your decision.

Well, could you not filter it so the person's IP can only send in one application say, per month? Or longer for that matter. I donno, sounds like it'd be a tricky thing to perfect, but sounds alright in general.

It is a good idea, It would be easier for you, pl, instead of checking the recomendation bot.. But instead of checking out people who are interested in staff. I would lend a hand out in developing it

It is a good idea..If PL could handle it. PL you have TWL and other shit going on right now. You sure you candle handle the spam of applications? I just have a feeling it will go to waste and they won't be read. But if you honesty think if you have time for it in the middle of the TWL season then go for it. It's just the truth though..if I was head of TWL I don't think I would have time for it either.

Oh, forgot to put my name in the hat. Having no job gives me 24 free hours a day, and with enough drugs to keep me sane I could use those 24 hours to sort through thousands of shitty apps. Get a committee or something together to go over these things. That way those of us who are bored to shit with the game can still have something constructive to do for the zone.

Agreed.

Seriously who's got the time to read that many emails. It's a horrible idea, you've got lots of quality staff the way it's been done for years. I can see a new email from the same people daily, (on dialups) claiming to be different alias', the abuse of such a feature is easy.
You could get people like cundor emailing in pretending to be Schope, and writing a spam/trash email just to stop someone they don't like from getting staff.

(Sorry about the choice of people i used, i just needed some examples and those were the first names that i could think of)
