  • Season 18: TWLJ Official Hot or Not - Week 5

    Dice vs Fierce
    Game of the Week
    50 - 42

    Dice Lineup:
    Children, Evildeed, maketso, Megaman89, Stayon

    Fierce Lineup:
24, Broseph, Deez Nuts(subbed in), Eager(subbed out), Mean Gene(subbed out), Shock Therapy(subbed in), Tiny

This game was everything I expected it to be. It was a fast paced, intense game that went both ways many times. The game started out to look as though it was going to be a walk in the park for dice. Children started off on fire with a 6-0, while all on the opposite end, Tiny started with 2-7 and Mean Gene with 0-3. Dice jumped out to a 20-7 lead in a matter of minutes as it seemed dice would coast into an easy win. A quick substitution for mean gene by deez nuts seemed to turn the tides. Fierce began to rally behind 24 with a huge momentum swing. Fierce goes on a 26-13 run to tie the game up at 33. With life in them, it seems Fierce has the upper hand until Tiny goes out 9-10. With a 5v4 advantage, dice tries to close it out, but soon to follow tiny would be megaman89 and evildeed getting knocked out despite the advantage. Fierce now with the 4v3 advantage takes the lead 41-38 with the finish line just ahead. Stayon, though, showed why hes one of the best javs in the game right now. Fierce tried to close the game out by targeting high deaths, but failed miserably at as they got picked off one at a time. 24 goes out with an unexpected and failed attempt, as Stayon proved to be unkillable, and leading to Fierce's demise. As fierce failed to suicide out, their lead slowly turned into a losing 12-1 dice run to end the game.

Hot of the Game: Children 16-9

Not of the Game: Broseph 4-10

    Dudgeon vs Revenge
    36 - 50

    Dudgeon Lineup:
    Micke, Mikkiz, nokkonen, Sakke, Zizzo

    Revenge Lineup:
Cross, hellkite, Hydride(subbed in), Jones, Rendered(subbed out), Zeebu

This was another game that had potential to be the game of the week. Both teams clawing to stay in the playoff hunt. Revenge not showing their best lineup, gave Dudgeon a chance to sneak into the playoffs. Dudgeon started the game off good, with the usual suspect leading the way, Zizzo with an early 5-0 start. Dudgeon, seemed to be doing ok and keeping on top of Revenge with their group play, until the unheard of, and hasnt played TWLJ in HOW long zeebu? Zeebu went off in this game, snatching the lead from dudgeon after the first few minutes and never looking back. At 12-2 at had to tell him to relax, but he continued on ripping through dudgeon and killing any hopes of them making the playoffs. Zeebu finished the game with the season high in TWLJ with 19 kills. I could tell you more, but it would just be about Zeebu. Zizzo made a valiant effort as he has all season, but with Dudgeon's last 2 games looking like an 0-2 finish, this game was their last chance.

Hot of the Game: Zeebu 19-5

Not of the Game: Sakke 2-10

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Value vs Juans
    50 - 43

    Value Lineup:
Amnesti, Ardour(subbed out), Commodo(subbed in), dice, Solske, Spawnisen

    Juans Lineup:
    B.Rabbit, Darkstrike(subbed in), Fiora(subbed out),Nowyoudie, Roiwerk, Skilder

Another nice matchup with these two teams fighting to see who has mastered their lag more than the other. Value fighting to stay on top of the TWLJ ladder while Juans struggling to stay in the playoff hunt. Juans started this game off nicely, throwing the only undefeated TWLJ team for a loop. ROiwerk lead the charge as Juans jumped out to a quick but close lead. Ardour struggling, gets subbed by commodo, who jumps in and give a quick momentum boost to Value, who was unable to answer Juans in the first few minutes of the game. Commodo quickly turns it around as Value ties up the game at the half way point. Juans obviously struggling as NYD falls to 3-8 at the midway point. NYD struggling to stay in the game basically becomes a non factor as Value begins to take control of the game. With NYD out of the picture Value begins to push Juans around, taking out NYD and darkstrike while doing so. With a 5v3 advantage Value begins to clean up the mess. Solske coming up big in the closing moments of the game end ups closing out Juans. Roiwerk left standing alone for the 5th time this season, is able to knock out 1 player and get a couple on 9, but with too many deaths to spare, Value suicides Roiwerk into oblivion.

Hot of the Game: Solske 15 - 9

Not of the Game: NowYouDie 5 - 10

    Pandora vs Enemy
    50 - 41

    Pandora Lineup:
    Dreamwin, hulk, Steadman, Tsunami, Turban

    Enemy Lineup:
    Cranium, Kim, Revered, skatarius, Trasher

I tried for days to find someone to give me a summary, but failed miserably. Feel free to add a game summary if anyone has the time.

Hot of the Game: Dreamwin 10 - 5

Not of the Game: Cranium 5 - 10

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hot of the Week: Zeebu 19 - 5 (Keeping Revenge alive in a playoff hunt)
    Honorable Mentions: Children 16 - 9 / Solske 15 - 9

Not of the Week: Sakke 2 - 10 (Coming up empty handed in a must win game)
    Dishonorable Mentions: Broseph 4-10 / NYD 5-10

    Good write-up, thanks.

Pandora game went from blowout to close because of some early exits, but Tsunami and Dreamwin really clutched it at the end and sealed the deal.
