Although I didn't live during his presidency I have to admit the presidential pardon took guts. He didn't come into power at a very good time, with both Watergate and Vietnam, but hey you take what's dealt to you and make the best of it, and he did. RIP

I remember him well and the fact that I watched him play golf twice at a local private club.

Always seemed like a good guy. Was not President long enough for any real trash to be thrown his way.

He did pardon Nixon, but as Ephemeral noted, it was to allow the country to move on.

For those that had been alive during his presidency, he will be honored and missed.
