I know it sounds crazy but I found a shitty Jet Li movie- it's called the Contract killer, stay away.
On a good note, District B13 is fucking awesome. Best Action movie I've seen since Fearless or The Killer.
You've seen the Killer, right? With Chow Yun Fat? One of the best and bloodiest movies of all time.

CYE is really good. I think of it as Seinfeld on steroids.
John Carpenter's The Thing is an awesome sci-fi horror. Make sure you get the unrated version.

To broaden his horisons
Salo is just so fucking insane, and while news today are pretty much more horrific than anything movies can come up with, it's still a good study in disgust. :]
When I wrote Feast I came to think of Versus as well, which are movies for an hour and half of brainless fun. Nothing wrong with that imo

While I agree with you about American Splendor and The Descent (best horror movie in 10 years), I gotta ask wtf are you doing recomending Salo, Feast, and the Ultimate Versus.Originally posted by CrvenBan View Postgood shit
If you liked Equlibrium check out Wimmers other similar flick Ultraviolet (with the gun-kata shooting and shit), which sadly, wasn't anything close to Eq because he had studios and whatnot fucking him over, as I've read somewhere. Still it's a nice vision, too bad it didn't work out properly.
Feast - horror high on popcorn munchin value. Low budget, bad actors, hilarious lines, Henry Rollins, mouthfucking signed by: The monster (had this movie been a one and half hour of white noise and this scene, it still would have been worth the price), blood & gore in excess...basically everything you'd want in a good horror
Salo -
Suicide kings - this one is obvious, but I've just watched it again yesterday so I gotta mention it
Thursday - maybe not as obvious as SKs, but entertaining flick I'd lump in the same alley as Boondock saints (Aaron Eckhart who plays Nick, also plays a guy named Nick in Thank you for smoking - a rather fun and funny satire - recommend it. Talk about being typecasted: well son, all I got for you is a part of someone called Nick)
American splendor - good stuff, Giamatti plays Harvey Pekar in a biographical flick (might be in the obvious group tho)
The descent - quite good horror from that brit who did Dog soldiers
Versus (directors cut) - mwahrhaghagagaharaha yeah!
Versus is just bad. It's sorta funny when you're drunk, but not really.
Feast is terrible terrible, terrible! Not even worth wasting the money.
And Salo....wtf probably the most awful movie I've ever watched. People eating shit is not my idea of an enjoyable movie.

The only thing I thought as I watched it was, "hollywood producers and others bent on selling a story".Originally posted by Xog View Post"The Mothman Prophecies", it was okay, lots of listening and unerstanding to know what the hell was going on. And all throughout the movie, I kept saying in my head, "wow, all this shit actually happened" because, well, all those events were real.
You should also check out the original version of War of the Worlds (B&W)

look for the cancelled tv series called "clone high"
i dont think i had ever laughed so often in my life than when i was watching that show. a cartoon that is utterly hilarious. it got taken off the air becuase a bunch of indians decided to fast until it was removed becasue of the portrayal of gandhi. which wasnt really bad, just showed him being a hyperactive party guy
a couple movies that were very good and i liked but just felt rotten after wtching them were Crash and Kids
i just watched i heart huckabees this past weekend and thought it was kinda funny
the matador with pierce brosnin and greg kinnear was pretty funny
love actually is a good one to watch with a girl
i just watched a movie called little miss sunshine and i still cant decide whether i liked it or not... it started and i didnt like it but liked it more and more as it went on.
mostly, i recommend clone high.

I believe that TV commercials began in the early 1940’s. Note that most early TV shows were sponsored by manufacturers, this was really the beginning of ‘commercials’, for example NBC's Texaco Star Theater. A company called CE Hooper was the first, I think, to 'rate' TV programs for popularity. They were bought out in about 1950 by Neilsen's.
Ratings are done by putting devices in your house, hooked to your tv, to monitor what you watch. Before these devices were around, the ratings were done by calling people asking them what they were watching.
The ratings are used by station/network owners to set the price of the time slot the commercial/tv show airs in. The more viewers that watch during that time slot, the more the air time is worth. Obviously airing popular shows/events generates more income for the station/network. The station/network owners in turn are willing to pay those who actually make the show/event more money for the right to air it.

Freddy got fingered is, hands down, probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Do yourself a favor and save two hours of your life.Originally posted by Jerome Scuggs View Post

I've you're a fan of Seinfeld then it is very likely that you will love Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Entourage is an awesome show.
If the Get Carter that you're talking about is the one that stars Sylvester Stallone, then it is a sub-par movie. The Stallone movie is a remake of an amazing film starring Michael Caine that is also called Get Carter that was directed by Mike Hodges. You would be much better off watching the older, British version.
Some really good Asian crime-drama/ action films that you might like off the top of my head: Internal Affairs, Chingoo, A Better Tomorrow, A Better Tomorrow II, Hard Boiled
Battlestar Galactica is probably one of my favorite shows on television right now. The quality of it is amazing, considering that it is a Sci-fi channel show.

Kinsey is very good. if you watch that and then watch "Everything you've ever wanted to know about sex but were too afraid to ask" i think you'll find a humorous contrast. and if you enjoy the latter, you have an entire woody allen collection to explore.

Lol, leet.Originally posted by Jerome Scuggs View PostWow, thanks for the help, dudes. I've written all of them down, I have not seen a majority of these movies.
I'm also going to add Kinsey and Igby Goes Down to this massive list, both recommended by IRL friends.
Oh, and IT Crowd indirectly helped me. I was wiki'ing the show, saw Moss had Asberger's, clicked the link out of boredom, and decided the traits were so compelling that I printed out the wiki article, took it to a therapist, who then verified it officially.
