I doubt WW3 will be started by a conflict between two puny unimportant nations like kosovo (yes I'm calling it a nation, sue me) and serbia. I'm pro freedom and anti-nationalistic so I think those people have the right to start a country whenever they want too. Anyways I could try to discuss this here but I'm already sure it won't turn into anything worthwhile.

ps, yes I'm very aware a small conflict in the balkan was the start of WW1 but its quite clearly that the importance of the balkan has changed quite a bit since then.

You are funny dude... You forget the big forces that drive each side of those little unimportant nations. Add a new missile crises in Poland and you got some high tension. Tho, Its more likely that a big WW3 will start in the Far-East Asia, conflicts about sea territories.


Anyway it will be nice to see how Europe, or let say more specific, the EU, will welcome new Kosovo. They aren't so eager to let Turkey join the EU so far so I wonder what they will do with them.

You might not know it, but Slovenia as the presiding country to the EU was obliged to acknowledge Kosovo's independence as the first country in the world, following a prolonged role as the leading mediator.

Some Serbs, mostly the deluged ones with dreams of a Grand Serbia, were not too happy about it, and a few bombs were detonated shortly before the declaration of independence in some of Mercator's shopping malls (Mercator is Slovenia's Wal-Mart, having expanded to the Balkan states a few years ago).
