MSG is actually a perfected form of Seaweed extract, which is highly looked down on from the Western civilization. They went so far as to call it UNHEALTHY, as if their excess salt on McDonald's fries will give you longevity.

Trying to tell ME not to eat seaweed, 我呸!

Nonetheless I love pho, but I love korean bbq more

The typical Chinese or Taiwanese beef noodle soup is better imo:

Pho is everywhere in Vancouver. I don't know a single person who hasn't had pho before, including all my english-speaking friends.

I always say this, meat near the fat is the best, particularly pork.

    I fucking love MSG.

MSG is a common amino acid which is part of virtually all proteins. Your body normally breaks proteins down into the amino acids it is made of, thus everything containing protein will usually also contain glutamic acid.
I have no supporting data on how often it occurs, but let it be 1% on average of all amino acids. Eat 100 grams of protein, get 1 gram of MSG.
It is actually a very important molecular in that your nervous system uses it for signal transduction. Our tongue apparantly has a receptor for it so we can taste the presense of free MSG in food.

As with all things however, too much of a certain compound is harmful, so one should not eat multiple grams of it (or of any amino acid), but a tiny amount will not hurt you nor be something you would not encounter in normal life. Stories about 'chinese restaurant syndrome' are most likely the case of sensitive people and/or way higher than normal dosises, if even related to MSG (loads of studies done, no conclusive link I think? don't quote me on this).

    Never said I didn't like the fat. : (
They don't put sauce in it, but you can put hot / oyster(?) sauce in it if you want.
