In the South-East Asian countries, badminton is like a one-hit-wonder to a better life for most people. People train their ASSES off to make it to a higher level, and only 1 in a copious thousand get scouted and move on to a higher level. There's a huge following to it in Asia and some parts of Europe.

Watch: http://www.glumbert.com/media/badminton and you'll realize it's not so much of a backyard sport.

Alright so this is the most ignorant thing i've ever read. First off you sound like a complete moron with the mispelling of badminton and everything. 2nd of all do you even know how hard these people work? By laughing you are just showing how little you know about these sports and about life in general. Really, just don't talk. <_<

Badminton just happens to be a great sport, and has a huge following across the globe. If your perception of badminton originates from what Weird Al did on his White and Nerdy video......then I guess you are just that.
i'm sure he was just being a troll to get attention.

or he's really just an idiot.

while I've never been outside the US, i really would like to if you wouldn't mind footing the bill

and i actually read the damn post, so I'm pretty aware of at least the leagues in the UK.

also, one of my best friend's father played a hell of a lot of badminton, and even went to referee/judge it at the Atlanta Olympics in '96. I'm aware it's popular on an international level.

What you all failed to see was my emphasis of how I said I've never seen it played. Meaning that there isn't any coverage of any badminton (outside of a couple Olympic games). Meaning that there isn't a huge badmidton following (at least where I live, after all I said "I've NEVER seen"). Meaning that I don't even know if there's a National League or anything like it in the US. Meaning that there isn't any fame or fortune (comparatively) to be made in pursuing a professional career in badminton. Meaning that I'm perfectly justified in poking fun at the sport, and making the post that I made.

    So F U ignoramuses

Aw, you striving to be a professional badmiton player too? It's ok, I wouldn't suggest killing yourself over it. I mean, there's a lot of fame and fortune to be made from wasting your life in the pursuit of becoming a professional shuttlecock swinger, but I'd stick to mastering continuum if i were you.
