  • The Swine flu

I'm surprised no one has made a thread about this yet.

After the bird flu, we now have the swine flu! So far, over 100 people in Mexico have died after being infected. Surprisingly, young and healthy adults have a pretty big share in this. Some institutions like the WHO are concerned that the outbreak might lead to a pandemic.

Death tolls of pandemics in the past:

    - 1918 Spanish flu: 50 million
    - 1957 Asian flu: 2 million
    - 1968 Hong Kong flu: 1 million (last pandemic)

So, should we be scared? I know there's at least 1 doctor sniffing around on this forum (Epi), I'm curious as to what your thoughts are on this subject.
