Elimbeta has killed elim

here's a hint:

f2 your screen so that it sorts by frequencies - the people with public freqs are in the casual arena and are listed first.

the people playing are on private freqs, and are on the bottom of the f2 screen.

while it's not as easy as it was before, it might be easier than typing !wl or w/e it is. And hey, if you can waste the effort to type or macro "Ez" why can't you do the same for "!wl" ????

Although I think a better solution is to just have the f2 scores show the elim game, and have the pm's for the total rec. I dont know why it's not like this now unless it's just to hard/impossible to program.


And ffs, give it a shot. I was in elimbeta for a few minutes and was in the casual play box with one other person. There were 20+ in spec. Don't expect it to serve a function if you don't use it...

Again, if the main problem's in the f2 scores, change them, don't remove the casual arena all together. Also, it could use some sprucing up to make it more enjoyable like with a small base or something.

I actually like Elim Beta, it makes it more fun.. THe population has been low for elim for awhile now. As Nasir stated, having so many separate arenas the population is scattered all over the place. We all complain for change, then when change has came, we complain again. You guys need to be grateful someone is contributing their time to make the zone better.

Those use to be the day, Raspo! When like 50+ ppl gathered in there. I don't like the merge belim and elim idea, though. I always thought elim was fine by itself. But this new elimbeta has kind of changed that now.

We are having the same discussions over and over again. The only solution is to merge elim and baseelim again, regardless of what all those pure jav newbies say. All this seperate arenas make TW a shitty place to be in, with a low population scattered all over the place.

Yeah, I want the old elim back. I'm not disrespecting the efforts, but elim had better activity. Now both elim and elimbeta is pretty much dead...

i like the new bot, but thats all thats different, so put the new bot in the old elim map, and delete elimbeta map, simple as that

and get statistics back up, i won like 6 straight games and nothing changed on statistics before i realized it, not that it matters but still, wasn't that the point of making a bot that can even do them?

About the new elimbeta, well in my opinion the new features are pretty good, although ditch the prac arena. Like ward said annoying to keep up with whose still playing without using commands. Well doesn't really bother me but...

To be honest, the only time I've seen elim look like the elim of old times with at least 10-30 players is when I've won like 2-3 elims in a row. If I can keep it up to at least 4-5 wins, then slowly with each passing win theres always more ppl...who won't stop till they break my streak :wub:..too bad I don't always have that kind of patience cause usually the first 1-2 games are pretty boring with so few ppl and ppl voting stupid stuff sometimes...worst is if I'm having a wb win streak and something else is voted...could this be changed somehow? To let the winning person have a chance to keep up his streak

Yeah sometimes I've also went to elim to ruin someone streak :fear:

So the zoner it does after winning is great, altho kinda funny to see massive streaks by weird ppl with 3 ppl playing heh...if there was some way to relate the zoners with the number of players who played, would be great...like the more ppl playing/played the more impressive the zoner

If you're ANY good at elim (yes, refering directly to you ward) then you'd spend exactly 0% of your time in the casual playing area because you'd be winning elims. Quit complaining about shit that doesn't even affect you (unless you're bored of being one of two ships out so early they're in the casual section).

The practice arena was never meant to be fully populated... it's just there for the few people who come in midgame, or the people who go 0-10 and have to wait until the next game.

go Javs should be brutally killed - as in remove the map so that no one can go sit in afk and draw the attention away from belim (which should drop the beta..)

I'd say go ahead and drop the 'beta' from elimbeta if it's near completion, and rename elim --> 'oldelim' or something that doesn't confuse players who are trying to play elim.

Elim's dropped in #'s since the elfbots came around, I agree. But there's no way to go back to the old elim, so to suggest that is plain stupid.

The practice arena could be made smaller, and possible more interesting so that people are more willing to goof off in it instead of sitting in spec waiting for the next game. But that's probably overkill, it would work just fine as-is if there were enough people in the arena. There's not a lot of reward for designing an arena to hold and do best with 30-50 ppl, then trying to accomodate for scenarios where it only has 5-10 ppl in it and have it work both ways.

The longer we have the two arenas, the longer people like me are going to wait for elim to be fully 'ready'. Yet in the meantime, people don't really want to play, aside from the occasional test.
