Back when most people only had dial-up, Subspace managed to make a rather complex game with excellent physics that was also sufficiently economical with its packets to sustain MMO play. Of course, that elegance is lost on modern bandwidth and computational specs.

So the game is showing its age. It also has virtually no publicity.

Each arena is different, and most of the arena settings are crap. If I were to start in Metal Gear or Death Star or Hyperspace, I would quit and uninstall within minutes of trying them, just because those zones don't interest me. I think part of TW's enduring popularity is that its simple ships still allow for complex strategy.

The mechanics for each ship are different, and there are many controls to figure out. It takes a level patience that most people lack.

And finally... So many of the players here on the forum and in the game are complete assholes. Immaturity is off the scale, especially for an old game. You'd expect most players to at least act a little older than the game itself. Nope. The contents of this thread are a good enough example. Good staffers are gone because they got tired of devoting their time to a bunch of thankless assholes, among other reasons. That leaves only the bad, the corrupt, and the all but foolishly dedicated for staff.

Hear me, children. When you form coolness hierarchies and rivalries and bitter feuds over a 2D spaceship game, it's probably time to pull your head out of your ass. This game will at least partially deserve its own death, when it finally comes.

I always though this game was like msn but with the added feature of killing people.

I'd be sad to let this game go (i prefer it over warcraft, and mostly any other game), and especially the community would be a big loss... but hey.

3 years ago, this game had 600 people. Now, its 370 for max almost all the time.

This game is going to die, one way or another. When you got games like halo competing against this 2d game, if you think continuum's going to win with the new generation, you are one sick, gf-less, mofo. stfu.

Should make Animol a mod. 4 real. he is a very friendly person inever saw he doing some shit. he have been playing for like 11 years now.Also, he is studying how to create games,maybe that could be alot usefull.He is very active and all.

Come on. Recruit him already. I see so many shits mods/host nowadays...they are rly rly newbies. They dont know nothing about the game and etc.

Adam: the best way to get people is to stop losing them with all the staff abuse thats been going on. And get people in staff who actually care about showing people a good time instead of showboating their powers or using those powers to get egf's.

So i propose things to change.

First, look at the ships.

Warbird is made for males.Javelin,for girls (the ONLY girl ship). Spider is made for homosexuals. And the rest is for males, but for males with espessifiquis cahaharacteristicis: leviathan,for slow ppl, Terr for thin ppl, weasel for cowards,Lancaster for newbies,shark for fatasses.

Come on, WTF. we need MORE ships for girls.

We need to paint the ships with colors like pink,purple,etc. The explosion of some ships could be not parts of the ships going everywhere,but it could be hearts going everywhere when a ship gets exploded.

I dunno, there are INFINITE possibilities that arent hard to think about. All i know is that WE NEED to make this game a bit more girly.

Also remember,with more girls in this game it will also atract ALOT of other males players that are interessed to hit girls.

Imagine!! The number of naked pictures can increase,the drama can be bigger.things can be SO MUCH BETTER. WE NEED TO CHANGE.

I concur with what xog said. This game is quite old now. I've been around for most of this game's lifespan, and it has been a good time I'd like to think I've given back to the TW community in some way (financially and time-wise) but most players now log on, shoot a few people, then go back to playing CoD5 or WoW. We can't really do much about the game's core mechanics, we can only work with what we have. And if we're doing the best we can with what we have, and the game is still dying, then perhaps it's time to let it go.

In the end, it's just a 2d spaceship game.
