RULES
Roster Rules
- Joining squads that are involved in the TWD salary cap league are only eligible to those who are active on the salary sheet.
- Players must be rostered on their main names for TWD.
- If multiple aliases are found on separate rosters for squads included in that season, that player will be banned for the rest of the season. Captains will also be punished for recruiting an alias of a main name player with a -5 million to their salary cap. No exceptions.
- All rosters will have a salary cap of $100,000,000. Captains are included in this salary cap.
- There is a CAP on S-Tier players per squad. The cap is 4 S-Tier Players per squad allowed. There are 20 S-Tiers, and 5 squads.
- Once you join a roster during the free agency period, you are LOCKED into that roster until the free agency period ends. Once the regular season begins, players can leave rosters, but they cannot join a new squad for a week from their leaving date. Players who break this rule will be banned for the rest of the season. Rosters have a hard-lock for playoffs, which means no trades, no leaving squads, and no joining squads.
- Players are eligible to be kicked from teams. Kicked players are free agents and can be picked up by other teams as long as they fit the salary cap. Direct trades are also allowed.
- New players cannot be added to the sheet mid-season or once free agency begins. If a player that is not on the sheet registers on TWD and joins a league rostered squad, that player and captain will first be warned, if no action is taken then the non-eligible player will be removed from rosters, kicked and annihilated from the league forever. Captains will suffer a permanent 5 mil penalty to their overall salary cap for the rest of the season due to accepting a non-eligible player.
- The TWD bots will only allow league-registered squads to challenge and accept challenges. The TWD site will still allow outside squads to be created, but they won't be able to challenge or accept games.
- Players activated off reserves must wait 2 days (48 hours) before playing a match during the regular season. Captains must notify staff if they are taking or swapping players off their reserves. If a player activated off reserves plays a match within the 48 hour limit, that squad's roster will suffer a $3 million salary cap penalty for the rest of the season. Reserves are locked for playoffs, meaning players cannot be moved to or from reserves once the regular season ends.
Will there be no star caps?
No. The lineups made per game will not have a talent limit. Captains can mix and match their lines in whatever way they feel necessary. The players' personal salaries do not affect match lineups, the salaries only affect the roster as a whole.
Where will these rosters be held and where will we be able to see salaries?
Rosters will be held on TWD. Squads will have their Roster Spreadsheets linked on the main page. These spreadsheets will show the salary cap, LTR, and overall value of players on a squad.
Long-Term Reserve
Players that are on rosters may notify captains of a leave of absence, show rate issues, or anything else which may affect their playtime within the game (as long as it is legitimate). Every team will have a LTR (Long-Term Reserve) space that can hold two players. Two absent players may be put on this list during the regular season or moved from it. Players on LTR will not count toward the salary cap for the team, but they will not be allowed to be added into matches, and have a (2) day timer before being eligible to play again once reactivated off of LTR. (Think LTIR in sports)
Captains must notify league ops if they are adding or removing a player off of LTR. Players taken off LTR will have their salary value go towards the roster cap. Captains must make sure that when activating LTR players, that those players do not exceed the squad’s salary cap. Players cannot be moved on or off LTR during playoffs.
Banned players on rosters
If a player on your team gets banned or is off of the roster, their salary will not go towards your salary cap, and you would be free to sign a Free Agent who is not yet involved in the league.
TWD Borrows
Borrowing players to play matches will be DISABLED for this league. Only rostered players can play in matches with their squads.
Challenging For Games
Only TWD squads participating in the league will be able to !challenge and !accept matches. Only assistants and captains can get games. There is no limit to how many assistants a squad can have.
How are playoffs determined?
The normal TWD ladders determine playoff and playoff seeding. Minimum 25 games must be played for each division to qualify. Top 4 teams in each ladder proceed to the playoffs. Teams are locked in standings with the strike of midnight on the final day of the regular season.
Playoff Format as follows: (#1 Seed vs #4 Seed, #2 Seed vs #3 Seed)
Player Value Rosters held on Spreadsheets
A quick note regarding salary value rosters. Obviously, due to the lack of dev work on the TWD site and the old code, we will be holding all rosters on spreadsheets as well as the TWD site. These spreadsheets will show the overall salary of a squad, every player’s individual salary, and Long-Term Reserve. Captains are required to have their team roster salary spreadsheet linked on the homepage of their squad in TWD. League ops will provide these spreadsheets, and will provide captains with editable access to their squad’s spreadsheets, so they can make changes to their salary roster on the fly.
Preventing Inactivity in terms of seeding
To prevent a strong team from climbing the standings and sitting inactive for the best possible playoff odds, we will be implementing a 5 game mandatory match requirement for the last week of the regular season. Squads that fail to meet this 5 game requirement per division will swap their playoff seeding with the lowest seeded team. This rule counts for all 3 divisions. (WB/JAV/BASING)
Roster Salary Caps, Player Salary Cap Values changing mid-season?
Because this first season is mostly a short test-run. There will be no changing of individual player values for this season. As of right now, there are no plans to raise the initial salary cap per roster or raising S-Tier restrictions. However, if community outcry is large enough to grant participation to more players during the season, this may be revisited.
Salary Cap (Per Squad): $100,000,000
Rosters cannot exceed this value.
Tier Cap Per Squad: ONLY 4 S-TIER PLAYERS ARE ALLOWED PER SQUAD. NO TIER RESTRICTIONS FOR ANY OTHER TIERS.
MMR will still be ran during this league, as well as other Sunday leagues as long as they don’t interfere with TWDSL playoffs.
