off season double squading

A better idea would be to just have a limit to the amount of people that could be on a squad. More teams I say.. the poor little 28 team ladder just makes me cry.
-
Separating the league rosters into three rosters would be a better idea than this one.

TWD ran for its first years without any way of us effectively stopping double squadders, and guess what? No one liked the double squadders. I spent the better part of my TWD Op career taking complaints from players about our inability to stop double squadders. Public concern about double squadding destroying the TWD league balance was one of the major reasons we developed the TWDBot system that we use today.

bots are not bandaids, and this still doesn't solve the underlying problems with your ideaOriginally posted by Peace_Maker View PostIs it possible to program the bot to allow for two squads then change it during qualifications to tell players they can not play unless they get removed from one squad. I am sure it is possible, just need to talk to the programmers and find someone willing to work on it.

In theory it would be cool but it would cause a lot more headaches just trying to sort people out. Especially if the player used 2 (or 3 or 4) different names per squad he joined. It would be really difficult for a programmer because there is a ton of stuff that is involved in tracking just 1 individual, adding multiple names would be a mess to figure out.
It would be fun to be able to bd whenever with different squads though.

No, then we'd have to put people on lists to make sure the have to go back and if they don't, then we'd have to start banning people and more than likely people will forget and that'd just cause a whole lot more issues than just not allowing Double Squadding to begin with. I'd give it a no if it were brought up with us.

off season double squading
I am just throwing an idea out of allowing double squading during TWL off season to see what kind of feedback it gets. There are many potential benefits to allowing double squading:
- Players already on squads would be able to join another squad that is active at a different time than their current squad.
- Many times of the day only one squad has enough players to play basing games. If double squading was allowed I think potential game play for all three (four/twsd) divisions has room to grow.
- New players will get a better opportunity to play with vets and learn from them promoting a higher level of competition.
- Double squading will promote more TWD game play in general.
Potential problems of double squading:
-A player is on two squads that want to play each other and both squads are counting on the same player to have enough for the game
-TWL qualifications - If double squading was allowed I suggest at the time qualifications start players must pick a single squad and only play for the one.
- How would the enforcement of a single squad be managed at time of qualifications? I would depend on staff to figure out a way to regulate this.
- To play a game with a squad the squad's tag must be on. Squad passwords would have to be known by players and could not be changed by captains. Captains will have to trust players they recruit.
I think the positive side of off season double squading out weighs the hassle it could cause. The more positive feedback given the more staff would consider allowing players to double squad. Let them know what you think, post!
