Cause it's like a wake up call?
I don't see why you should care if they quit or continue to play. They were inactive in the first place and not doing anything. It's not like it was helping our zone.
They can't just sit there and waste space. Time to establish the fact that if you want to stick around you have to be active more than once every 6 months (or however long they were inactive for).
I'm not saying this will suddenly brighten up the zone and everyone will start playing. Heck you're right, some might just finally find a reason to quit. But I don't think it will be everyone. Need to do something than nothing because let's face it. The zone is dying.
Not putting any limits on twd is just giving an excuse to a bunch of players that they do not have to try to get into twl. That TWL will be served on a plate for them and they don't have to play until it starts.
Load of horseshit. Limiting roster sizes will end up getting rid of the inactive, some will come back and play on different teams, or get active again to play on the same team or some will just quit. But that at least offers a chance for some squads to start recruiting again to be competitive. There are some squads that have way too many people on their squad and can be playing elsewhere. It might even bring some caps to actually care about training newbs to be apart of the squad.
tl;dr:
Enough with the excuses, install limits or continue to let the zone die.

Another thing you can't kick people off chats, I doubt they will just quit because they aren't apart of the squad because they were inactive. I'm sure they would understand the reasoning because they were inactive
If anything it would drive them to play again. Just look at Jason.

re
limit it like this
1 league squads - 20
2 league squads - 25
3 league squads - 30
For TWL ofcourse, TWD limit should remain limitless B)

No limit in TWD: Inactive players can stay in roster and play once in a while. No positive or negative effects.

Reducing TWL roster size, well I guess Im against it but I understand if some people wants to do it. That could be worth trying, propably would be a failure tho.

Roster limit for TWL would be good idea. Roster limit for TWD may not work so well. Players seem to be less active these days so some squads need 30-40 players if they want to qualify for three leagues. Also new players get opportunity to play on those huge squads with 50-70 members hah.
As long as squadhopping/aliasing is accepted by majority of TW caps/TW Staff Trench Wars squads will lack a strong sense of idenity and continue to die out quickly. Players bounce around from squad to squad. That has always been the case, but it seems way more frequent then in the past.
From my own experience the squads I have enjoyed the most are the ones with 15-25 members - most of them dedicated players. Every squad will have inactives though, just the nature of the game.

Well there are plenty of squads with 30+ players who all know that there are going to be maybe 5-6 people playing in every single twld game and don't care about it, There are two kinds of people in TW, Leaders and Lackeys, there are far more Lackeys than Leaders, it DOES take something different to be a cap of a squad instead of a leader or else the squad dies or fails miserably.

i think cutting down roster sizes for twl would be a good idea but if there isn't a twd limit it won't do that much. like kthx said, a lot of people will just sit on roster to claim they have a title. so i think what we need is to reduce twd roster limit to say 40 or 45, and make twl limit smaller, probably 30. that way there will be a big number of players who have to find new twd squads or be squadless. +competition for twl will be a little better

I think we spoke about it like 3 years ago...
people complain that out of 50 people in a roster, half are inactive. half of those who are active, are lagging, and half of those who are not lagging, are just there for the friendship and chats.
I thought it was a good idea few years ago, and I think it will be good idea today. It will just force players who are considered second line, to play first line, and add more for the competition.
There was also idea of making two leagues, like premier and secondary, with teams that promote and demote each end of a season. It could be even more interesting...

You only need 5 players minimum for subs
No one subs their entire team out
in DD/JD you don't get more than 1 or 2 subs.
I don't remember the last the time where everyone on a basing squad was subbed out of their bd because of lag/sucking (?go base does not count)
and when do you play one league match and another at the same time?
I don't think TWL would allow that. Only squads who do that has more than enough players (like those squads with 60 PPL ON THEIR FUCKING ROSTER) for twd.
If you're not willing to accept a limit to roster sizes, at least accept that having that many ppl on certain squads is ridiculous and needs to be changed.

5 + 5 + 8 = 18
Add an entire line of subs for all leagues and you have 36. You shouldn't need more than that, with these numbers nobody is even playing in more than one league.
I too think that we should make an effort to create more squads, atleast for TWBD/TWLB. Squads like Respect has way more basers than what they would need for their TWL line, but with so many good basers on the side they've recruited much of the competition.

3 league squads need 35 players OR MORE. 1 league squads should be the only ones with 25 player limit.....
40 player TWD limit would be cool.
