The game is almost dead, it's either something like this or continue fading away until there's a pub of 10 afkers left. Why would you even care anyway since you don't play?

Yo, at some point you should consider just letting the game die over implementing fucking stupid ideas like this. At what point does it stop being Trench Wars when its just one giant group of players who can instantly squadhop and play on five squads at one time. Preserve the memories, don't send it out as a dumpster fire. You know its like.. quitting your job with a two weeks notice instead of walking in and saying fuck you faggots.

How about double squadding during offseason but when twl qualifications start players have to decide where they want to end up for twl, BUT they can also make non-twl qualified squads in which they can double squad on?

unless someone's around to do a rebuild of the TWD bots, i think DS/cooldown removal on an honor system seems to be the most realistic option. look at how many dd/jd's happen during the week compared to BD, this suggests to me that the activity is there but most squads habitually lack an extra two or three players at any given time to have BD's

assuming there's going to be a TWD reset before next TWL, it's not like letting people move all around would affect standings unfairly, or anything.
aye, removing the wait time would definitely be beneficial right now. We will look into it, but as far as the double squadding debate goes .. that is up to the Head of TWD to decide.

TWD is almost 100% dead outside Sundays and this hasn't been tried yet despite there having been talk about it for years. What miracle are you waiting for that would salvage the situation, Steam?

What the hell are you babbling about? "Identifiable squads" what? With what players?

We need to somehow improve the competitive scene in TWD as the squad growth has stagnated and activity has been dwindling for a long time. It is true that the activity could be restored by allowing players to have more freedom with their squads, it would also hurt the squad and player integrity quite a bit thus making our chances of ever having a competitive, genuine ladder in TWD close to slim.

I dont like to throw my hat into the ring on issues like this because I avoid all leagues so pot kettle... Anyway here it is.
If you are truly looking for more competitive leagues letting one player be in two squads in the same league. Well TBH its why I quit all leagues when this was allowed because like you said it kills integrity. If people just want kills and all they care about is K/D then it is very VERY short sited to think people wont.. lets say... stack the books to get a medal or some kind of recognition.
Training squads how ever is a great idea. If older players want to take the time to coach newer players and teach them the tricks of the trade great idea. Teams using teamspeak more and really getting together and maybe giving squads the chance not only to win medals for K/D but for helping out new players or filling up empty zones. Getting a friend to come and sign up for league play to get more recognition than K/D but like i said at the start this coming from someone who has not played in league for 10 years at least.

Focus needs to be given to TWD asap after this season ends. TWD is what constitutes as the bulk of veteran activity in this game, excluding pub/elim, and is the gateway into TWL.

    1. Make it mandatory for players to play a certain # of TWD games in order to qualify for TWL. Having a squad meet a certain quota of games is not enough anymore since people just complete that within a week of TWL starting.

    2. Award top season performances in TWD. Players are more likely to compete if there is recognition involved. (Leader in kills gets a star medal on site etc.)

    3. Start a legit initiative to transition the pubbers we have into TWD. I'm sure most of them would like to BD each other. Keep the playing field even so they dont get raped. Help pubbers understand that being on a squad has its own value.

As for double squadding, I don't think it would hurt to try it out at this point. Everyone has experienced being short a few players or not having anyone on due to timings. People rather log off and play other games than wait and that decreases activity. The goal is to be able to log on and TWD at any given time. Based on these changes we can then formulate a plan to revamp TWL if necessary. I've heard from many players that they are quitting this game after this season. If activity does decline then we may have to make TWL a draft type league.

    started a topic Double squadding

    Double squadding

Alright I think it's time to allow double squadding in TWD already. At this point there's not much left to lose by trying it at least. The ladder point argument is almost completely pointless at this point since every single squad that can possibly make it is invited to TWL anyway.

Quick idea of how to implement it in TWBD ladder: make 2 squads, let's call them BD SQD 1 and BD SQD 2 for example. You'd be allowed to join 1 of these in addition to your normal squad.
Working...
