Especially pene and bw who bd constantly and are clearly improving and getting better by the day. All that hard work is going to go down the drain b/c there are about 3 good base javs that are out there and who you think are going to get them? The top 3 squads. You think TWL, especially TWLB has 2 more seasons to wait for each squad to have a top notch LB jav? No it fucking doesn't. The fastest dieing league skillwise is TWLB and if you do this 4 spid bullshit it will die even quicker. But hey lets listen to a guy who came back from not playing for a fucking year and let your march in here pretending you know something, who knows if you even played a TWLB season seriously and your saying all this shit about dice and what I think. Are you a mind reader no? shut the fuck up. I want more competition in TWLB and this season there will be more if people smarten up and don't listen to complete idiots like yourself
You can't deny he has a point ;-)

4 spid limit! Its time to make squads be little more creative with their lineups. Also, does someone REALLY want to watch LOOONG BORING CRAMS?

Don't you ppl remember how it used to be? Basing that is...back in the day when pallies, disoblige, light..etc played, and used special ships way more often than squads do these days... and fun stuff would happen every time.

Now compare that to the 5 spid cram games? Which one is more fun to play in and more entertaining for spectators? Interesting games need fun stuff and things to happen for most ppl to really watch them, not just hang in spec in the arena. I rest my case.

    2. :fear:

3 rounds for dueling leagues, one little longer round for basing. It doesn't matter if the basing round is a bit longer, not like its any more effort to host it if it lasts 5 more mins for example.

Is it really that hard to set up twl using the twd bots or something very similar? Would be ideal format, at least for ld and lj.

If you don't agree you're a silly farty pants goose-egg gobblin know-nothinger tennsi coach.

    No to 3 rounds.

    no to spid limit

    no to 3 rounds

no to unlimited ship changes (unless some1 can convince me otherwise with a short post)

3 rounds is too long...no one wants to sit around for 45 min to 1.5 hours unless its for finals cuz thats what really matters

regular season is all about getting to the finals, you either make it to finals or you dont, you either play like shit or you dont. there are too many chances to make it to finals to have 3 rounds

I think mm89 has a point with his statements. I don't think that there should be a spider limit imposed on squads. In fact, I don't think there should be a limit on anything, except for terriers and sharks. Taking out the blocks in the flag room has made the cram far easier to break, and is already resulting in basing matches that are at least half flag room battles.

The one thing that I think we should take into account here is that we should be opening up more opportunities for squads; not limiting them. We should entirely remove the limit for ship changes. This would allow teams to add a warbird or jav in whenever they see fit. It would add a lot of strategy to the game. Ex. Chief Utsav kills me with a burst resulting in a cram situation for dice. Mm89 then changes paska to a warbird to harass my squad on the way up the tube and to the cram. He could then keep him in warbird or even change him back to a spider as we work our way into breaking the cram and possibly entering the flag room.

If you didn't read my wall of text at least read this, lifting the limit of ship changes would most certainly open up basing to some interesting formations, while limiting the amount of spiders would force squads to play a ship that they may not even feel comfortable playing, which could possibly turn new players, and squads, away from basing.

5 spiders is the best lineup currently, but if you limit the number of available spiders it won't be the best lineup anymore. While my logic is blindingly obvious it's worth noting. 5 spid is the best lineup only because you're allowed to play 5 spid.

I think TWLB has been stale for a long time now. The cram killed it, I'm sorry Camisade. It's not about letting squads play their best possible lineups, it's about asking squads to play their best lineups within the defined parameters (ie: 2 sharks, 1 terr max.) I think with 4 spids, while squads would have to find people capable of playing specials, (which I don't think there is that much of a shortage of?) the games would also become much more entertaining to play and watch.

I don't think, though, that removing all restrictions is a good idea. It would create chaos and, while probably entertaining, would overall greatly decrease the amount of skill and teamwork involved in LB.

Overall: 4 spid limit, 1 round

Edit: For those of you who say it's idiotic to limit spiders because there is no valid argument to do so, all of this is objective there is no correct answer for either side only shades of difference in opinion.

The argument, from what I've read, is as follows:
    -5 spiders is boring
-The population is decreasing so we need some flavor
-80% of captains in ?go base will make themselves a special (by this I mean there is plenty of room for people to get good at specials because there is clearly an interest in special ships)

    The argument against is:
-If 5 spiders is the best lineup, we should be able to use it
-Imposing a 4 spider limit will lower game quality, thus lowering population
-There are only a select few people able to succesfully play a special ship against a seasoned shark duo

Forgive me if I missed anything, but consider both sides of the argument before you spew propaganda for one side or the other.

You're begging for limits that you're used to, and probably learned basing under. Unlike sports it's not a physicality matter, it does not make you a better player, just one that can play vs a specific lineup that has its own limits on it in the first place.
The reason why the same 4-5 people keep arguing Dreamwin, is no one is defeating our points. We've downed you guys time and time again. A spider can lag and get some key shots on a shark/terr and fuck shit up too. A jav just causes a bigger mess, and therefore it's a hell of alot more noticeable. Still happens with spiders all the time.

As I said in my last post. If we don't make a ship limit now, or next season - then yeah. We're going to start losing all the good players in specials - because their won't be any competitive level to really play them on. Don't you ever notice how whenever people talk about the best basing times - it's always Pallies/Diso/Light - Mythrandir's base shit etc etc. Times when people used specials, and tweaked shit up! Now it's so damn stale, nobody seems nearly as interested. You're telling me, that the switch to every dominant squad playing with a 5 spider line has nothing to do with this? Really what reasonable arguement other than - "but i dont WANNA 4 spider limit!!" do you guys have? I've seen only a few people argue against it effectively so far.

1 wb in jds, the spectators will love it and wbers will come to watch too. Jds have been the same for too long it needs a change!

There are like 4-5 guys in this thread, who just doesn't give up with their thought of 4-spider-limit.

JeeZ, what do you want to accomplish? Laggy jav bombing through reps? wb lagging through flagroom and killing terr?

    GIVE UP ALREADY <_<

How can the no-5-spider limit people argue against no-ship-limit basing? Besides using sports analogies which compare apples to oranges.

do you really have to do all this just to make games more fair to other squads (what it's not going to even be). I mean isnt there another way........... maybe getting good?

This is what I don't like, the people that are arguing against the limit simply because their squad wouldn't be AS dominant for a little bit. It's really annoying, you still would have 4 crazy good spiders in. Besides, if we don't put the spider limit in soon - it's only going to strengthen the arguement against it. People will continually bitch that there are no good specials because no one has been using them for 4 seasons. Then 5 seasons. So on and so forth - until we really don't have any good specials anymore and the idea becomes unthinkable. For the sake of the game (not just your squads and their legacys) let's mix it up a bit.
