Trench Wars League is starting in two months and the invitations will be sent to the teams on September 13th.

We are currently aiming to have eight teams in each league, but that number is subject to change as it depends on the general activity and competitivity of the squads. There is going to be a ladder reset in the coming days followed by a new announcement with additional information about the qualification requirements, planned league structure and changes, and so on.

Are one of those changes regarding to the lancaster? The ship is too overpowered; and some people like to abuse to the point its not even fun.

we will thoroughly test every change that involve the website and bots, and will be running tests during the qualification period to make sure that nothing has broken during the break. on top of that there will be at least one week of pre-season to stress test the site and bots.

however most of the changes that we have planned require very little testing as they are more-so .. uh, structural changes to the league.

there were some discussions regarding lancaster, and it is possible that we will do slight tweaks to lower the ships power -- slightly lowering the damage, recharge rates and so on.

eight squads is the target, but we have enough leeway to run the league without problems even with less teams.

We in a new age with Steam. From what I see a lot of new players playing in other zones but I think it would be achievable for each of the 8 squads to have 3-5 new players in training during TWL. Maybe this can be implemented?

Back in the day squads had "junior" squads - I dont think that's necessary. I know staffers are working to get players involved in pub squads now - but if a contingent of them can be enrolled for TWL season 20 it would be good for zone. At 8 squads 3 per squad - 24, 5 per squad 40. Likely ambitious expectations for newbies coming in with a few months experience (they need time, maybe years - though I have heard steamers are great gamers) but maybe worth a try even if half of them logout mid twl and don't return. Get them playing twd, presason matches, or even league matches - where each squad puts a newbie in.

Building on this a bit more, maybe wishful thinking - but if squads could have a "players in training" or 'Rookies" section - like they have - Captains, Assistants, and Players - it would add a new dynamic to TWD and TWL. Rookies would have to be verified by staff for authenticity. Celebrate the new players, and give squads a reason to have newbies on them and you change the dynamic of leagues and zone a bit.

Whats going on with roster caps? Due to small amount of squads, maybe we could look into only allowing squads to play In all 3 leagues? This might perhaps, for example, make the squads with 20 javs to disperse into 4 other squads and make the 1 leaguers participate in more leagues, but keeping small rosters? This of course is a random idea, and could probably snow ball into something much better than my thought for the last 3 minutes.
