Hello.
I have always enjoyed doing statistical research work during my free time which often ends up with me compiling a random spreadsheet to take full advantage of the data, and thus without further ado here is the latest work. This spreadsheet was inspired by Ogron who has been working on a very similar project.
HOW THE FUCK DO I READ OR USE THIS SPREADSHEET?
The spreadsheet has been separated by seasons with both regular season and playoff player rankings, and the players who played well on their teams have been highlighted with golden and silver colors depending on the final placement of their squad in that season. The player rankings are done on a per season basis in relation to other players performances in the same season.
I have adjusted the regular season statistics by removing all the important playoff games from the overall player scores, thus the scores may look slightly different than on the main website. This extra work was done to give an accurate representation of player skill in both regular season and playoffs as there are players who excel in one or both categories.
You may freely access the sub-sheets below to get more accurate player statistics. I have separated the raw season data to separate sub-sheets to keep everything as clean as possible, thus allowing further tweaks and improvements to be done with relative ease.
Alternatively you may use the player search function located on the right-side of the spreadsheet. The player search option can be used by anyone and the rest of the spreadsheet has been protected to prevent sabotage. To use the player search function, enter a name to the player search box and the spreadsheet will quickly collect the regular season and playoff statistics of a player separated by season, along with the player ranking in each category. It also displays the squad on the right side.
I made an effort to get rid of as many aliases as possible by combining the scores to the main names, but it is still entirely possible that I missed a player or two given how there are over 500 names on the list.
The ultimate player rankings are based on the three best regular season and two best playoff season performances of each player. The player performance rating is a simple formula with primary focus on plus-minus scores of the players, although there is more into it than meets the eye.
Have fun.
