CUP semifinals
What a weekend we had with emotions running high, some awesome unrewarding performances, some stinkers and alot of drama involving FA picks and their effect on outcome of this league.
Time to review how things went and who will fight for the title next weekend.
WB play-in
As a warmup Ethereal and Alieexpress had both chance to still take part of playoffs in wb with 1 game play-in. Pre-game i felt like Ethereal had been favorites, they managed to get good results in recent games and Alie was sort of struggling as of late. Ethereal started with mythril, dak, cripple, ekko, zizu lineup, but lost control pretty early. Cripple was struggling heavily and was subbed out at 1-7 and jz subbed in admirably with 3 early kills, but it was already too late as Alieexpress played really well, teamed, were agressive and took their chances with geio and tripin impressing with siaxis, bombed and drose also playing well. One by one they started picking players off and in the end won in a rather easy manner below 12 minute mark with entire team going positive.
WB
Avengers vs Alieexpress (2-1)
Avengers had of course a major disadvantage with captain iron survivor missing the game, so rest of team had to play really well. Looking how alie dismantled ethereal though, i felt like alie was also considered a favorite before game. Alie also made a change with sword replacing geio (not sure if he had to go or what was the reason). First game was pretty neck-to neck battle. Jabra asked for sub and berzerk subbed in with okyo, morph and rough doing the heavy work and myself barely hanging on. Avengers managed to take out drose and got some important kills in 5v4 situation. Alie managed to take out berzerk and okyo, but couldnt handle impressive work done by rough and morph and lost a close first game. Bombed must have felt bad after going 19-10 and still lose game as rest of team did not really fare well.
Second game was pretty much a mess and my personal worst performance ever in any league i think with unimpressive 1-10
. In under 9 minutes alieexpress completely dominated with bombed going crazy 21-4. For me the game went on in pretty much similar fashion, spawn, fly to group, wham bombed killed me out of nowhere.
In any case, morph really took the role of captain and calmed everyone down and motivated for final battle. Avengers were like reborn and dominated game from the beginning with good teaming and supporting each other and so Avengers won and made it to finals.
Happy Hippos vs Prime (2-1)
With both teams having both good and forgettable moments over main season, it was difficult to predict a winner here. Hippos were definitely happy to see rainbow seeker making his debut for team, while Prime had had some really good games when they actually put in some effort. First game went under Primes dominance, racka/cape duo was dominating with racka going 18-8 in mvp performance, while riverside, jurassic and renzi proving solid cover. Hippos really never got going in first game with everyone going negative in a pretty one sided game with bike and rainbow being first ones out.
Second game was far closer encounter that went neck-to-neck until 12th minute mark when Hippos managed to start taking out Prime players one by one. Despite cape having some clutch KOs, Hippos players ability to stay alive at high deaths proved to be decicive.
In third game though, Hippos were already in full force, bike had a great game with 15-5 and refer/tiny/rainbow/zapata all also played well in a dominant game and securing final spot for hippos.
So in the end we have avengers vs happy hippos final, there is already proposal to move it to another time, but lets see how that goes. Well played everyone!

Pub Crackheads vs Terrorist (2-0)
Both teams showed up with loads of playes to game. Terrorist had for the first time cape, rainbow seeker and commodo online at the same time. DW opted to start with himself, commo, jabra, zizu and rainbow seeker, while for second game cape and dwopple replaced the last 2. Crackheads had paradise showing up, but he was having some serious lag issues and was replaced by zapata, who did not fare very well as well and was replaced by rekashi for second game. Stayon/yeh/rough and hellzno! made up core for crackheads. First game can be described as yeh show. Extremely difficult to kill, yeh went on to end with 14-4. Terrorist were struggling for most of game and in the end were unable to take out any high death players from crackheads to -7 loss.
Second game with different rosters went on for a while under Terrorist dominance, they lead by 10+ at some point. But change of pace managed to level things up and game sort of tied around 40-40 mark and after cape was taken out, crackheads went on to win the game. So very well played by stayons team, lets see if they can stop the monster that is called Monster.
Monster vs Pure luck (2-0)
What a highly anticipated match this was, where dominant Monster faced Pure luck. Team that on paper looks superstrong, but hasnt really been able to put together strong performances in this league. Zidane had a poor game with 5-10 and first one out, but PL managed to recover by taking out morph soon after. But in the end the ability for Monster players to survive at 9 deaths made them win the close game with rampage, byakko, Kim and okyo all surving to deliver.
PL didnt make any changes for second game, once again starting with racka, tiny, drose, jurassic and zidane. What a game that was, that was finally decided by just 1 kill. It looked game over when byakko was taken out before 8 minute mark, but Monster proved to be very tough opponent even 5v4. It got even worse with morph taken out at 10 minute mark, but monster even survived 5v3 and then okyo KO show started. First of all taking out drose, then jurassic, then tiny. So at one point it was rampage and okyo vs zidane, with everyone else out. Zid managed to eliminate rampage, but in a pretty weird final death ran into okyos bomb and it was all over for pure luck. Okyo awesome mvp performance, racka (2-10) and kim (4-10) failing to live up to hype in this game.
What a matchup between 2 awesome teams and lets see if crackheads can finally score a win vs this unbelievable monster team.
BASE
Crab Champions vs Terrorist (2-0)
In first semifinal, 2 in-form teams met that had really good weekends just before. Crab had all its key players available and started with zizu in terr, willby/zidane as shark duo and cripple, rough, tj, frozen throne and unlimited as spiders. Terrorist had really good showup as well, missing only draft as potential terrier. DW opted to start with himself as terr, usual duo cig smoke/markmrw as sharks and bombed/absurd/cape/drose and raiyin as spiders. From early on in first game, crab champions really took control and didnt allow terrorist to do anything. They were close to 10 minutes up already when dw made a switch, brought in jackie for terrier and switched to spider himself. It improved gameplay a bit and at least game went on pretty equal from that time on, but that massive early lead really made it difficult for terrorist to make any comeback so in the end it was comfortable +10 win for zizu and boys.
Second game was far more equal. DW opted to use the same lineup as end of last game and it looked like terrorist was going to take it after securing base with tied score at around 11th minute mark, but one unfortunate mine made terrorist defensive line go up boom and in a later play, a smart port from zizu, pretending to go left while rushing from center and half of terrorist team still around the map were key moments that turned game around and secured crab champions another win. In both games, crab champions spider line was effective and dominating in kills with cripple and tj leading the way. Also zizu had once again great games, so it was really difficult for terrorist to do anything.
Ethereal - Caped Crusaders (2-1)
Ethereal enjoyed the debut for rainbow seeker, who continued his insane killing spree in spider, partnered with genx, stayon, henry saari and dad as under, while ekko was terrier in first game with mvp/commodo shark duo. CC responded with morph in terr, omega/hulk as sharks and renzi, rosay, okyo and hellkite as spiders and some subs as well with berzerk/spirit getting chances.
First game was pretty dominant performance by ethereal, they were a bit better in everything and morph really didnt have a good game in terrier as well for CC.
Second game heafin showed up, which allowed morph to switch to shark to partner omega with hulk going on to make mvp performance in spider partnered with renzi, hellkite, okyo and rozay.
While first game went under ethereal dominance, second game was exactly opposite. Changes in lineup made CC cruise pretty comfortably. Ekko did switch terr role with genx at some point, but that didnt really change the flow of the game, so everyone was anticpating final battle between the teams.
Ekko did one change for final game when joeses stepped in for commodo in shark and genx continued his terr duties. CC went to final game with same roster. What a game that was, going until final seconds, when ekkos boys took 30 second win and progress to final. Loads of controversy around this as well, as joe was not really suppose to play in semis.
So there we have it. What can we expect from finals?
I feel avengers vs hippos will come down to showups, summer is already here, people schedules are being interrupted and it looks like neither team can probably have their best lineups in place. I feel like avengers though have been very solid entire season and should have upper hand here, so i predict 2-1 win for them.
Monster is definitely favorite in jav final. Its not really common, but i can see them going undefeated entire season and win this 2-0.
And finally base, Crab champions were really impressive in games vs terrorist, while ethereal has been sort of on-off entire season. It will be close finals, but i predict CC to win 2-1.
Only 1 more week to go, lets go!
