Free Agency is beginning today so here are some reminders about changes and how it works.
Free Agency uses blind bidding through the website during an open "window". Before the the first regular season game, there will be 2 windows per week. From the start of Monday until Tuesday at 11:59pm is one window, and the beginning of Thursday until 11:59pm Friday is another. Once the season begins, there will be one window per week, Monday through Friday, until the end of the 4th round of TWDT, at which point Free Agency will close.
Players will be awarded Wednesdays during the 2 bidding window phase and Saturdays every week. The highest bid will be accepted and this becomes the player's rating (and amount he counts toward the * limits).
Captains cannot bid on players who signed up during the current bidding window. These players will be available to be bid on during the next window, along with any players who were not won in the previous window(s).
All caps must pick up a few players in Free Agency to meet the minimum of 30 players on a team.
Players have been assigned minimum values, either 1 or 3, based on their experience in TW. Caps cannot win a bid on a player with a bid less than their minimum. This is to prevent caps from abusing the * limit by grabbing an elite aliased free agent for 1*.
In case of a bidding tie, we are no longer going by who bid first. We are now going to use a "rolling list" to break the tie. The list will start in reverse draft order, and every time a tie happens, the team that is higher on the list will win the player. That team then drops to the bottom of the list. In case of multiple ties per window, the tiebreakers shall begin with the highest tied bid. In case of multiple ties at the same bid (but different players), we shall go alphabetically within the ties of that number. The rolling list will be kept updated in a reply to this thread.
