    TWDT-D Finals

    Tool vs. Power
    50-40
    Round 1

The house that Fierce built was back in full force after extended playoff absences from both Apok and Lasenza, as Zizzo's powerhouse dueling squad showed a full line.

Thunder-backed Power was also in its final form, as Ease and Racka came storming out of the gates with 10-5 and 9-4 scores, but an early 2-10 exit from Steadman, and sub-par 5-10 and 7-10 outings from Shaddowknight and Iron Survivor put them down 3v5 early despite a 34-32 lead, as the 10-Star duos of Ease (14-10) and Racka (12-10) were heavily outnumbered.

While the Fierce trio of Tripin (15-9), Lasenza (9-8), and Apok (6-7) were the driving force, the real heroes were 6-Star Aprix (12-8) and 5-Star Lee (8-8), who went 20-16 compared to Power's 7-10, shifting the battle to their favor by the midgame and staying alive for its entirety.

    HOT: Tripin, with a big-time 15-9!
    HOT: aprix, with a sizzlin' 6-Star 12-8
NOT: Steadman, with an premature exit 2-10. Steadman WBs like he fucks -- it's over in 2-10 seconds and he blames LaSenza.

    ------

    Tool vs Power
    50-36
    Round 2

Despite a huge game from 6-Star superstar BWP (15-10) coming in for Power, and another solid round from Ease (12-10), Zidane's squad once again suffered from an imbalanced offense as Racka (4-10), Iron Survivor (4-10), and Shaddowknight/FFE (1-10) all bit the bullet early.

The Tooltimers steamrolled Power as LaSenza (16-6) dominated ahead of Apok (11-7), aprix (9-7), Tripin (8-8), and Lee (6-8).

HOT: LaSenza, with a whopping 16-6!
NOT: Shaddowknight, with a horrendous 0-6 sub.

    TWDT-J Finals

    Power vs. Tool
    50-40
    Round 1

The Powergonians finally took a round off Tool, as Ease (13-7), Zidane (12-8), and Steadman (11-8) led the way, with a strong 6-Star performance from Heaven (8-7) making his league debut, and a 5-10 from 5-Star FFE.

Team Captain Zizzo (15-10) did everything he could to stem the tide, but almost outkilled his entire team as they went a miserable 19-30 collectively, with Apok (6-10), (aprix (2-7), Tripin (7-10) and Lee (0-10) all negging, and a solid sub from Spawnisen (4-3) coming too late.

HOT: Zidane, with an impactful, aggressive game and a 12-8.
HOT: Heaven, with a debonair 8-7 debut!
NOT: aprix, with an appalling 2-7 from the jav extraordinaire.
NOT: Lee, with an abhorrent 0-10.

Based on your performance, Riot has added a new League of Legends champion to their pool:

    ------

    Tool vs. Power
    50-38
    Round 2

Apok went First Blood on Power, destroying them with an incisive 17-5, alongside a fantastic performance from Spawnisen (14-7), to carry Zizzo (8-9), Tripin (7-9), and Lee (3-8).

Steadman (12-10) and Ease (10-10) lacked support as Zidane (8-10), FFE (4-10), Heaven (0-4) and Claus (2-6) all struggled.

An early exit from FFE gave the Tooltimers the edge they needed, as they tightened the noose around them and closed out the round convincingly.

HOT: Apok, with a devastating 17-5.
HOT: Spawnisen, with a splendid 14-7.
NOT: FFE, with a 4-10 out in 4 minutes, was a huge handicap for Power.
    Other handicaps for Power:
-Zidane constantly telling everyone how terrible they are.
-Zidane telling a2m he's overrated and to not bother showing for Finals.
-Zidane drunkenly demanding Ease make him (C) and getting axed day before Finals.
    -Heaven

    ------

    Power vs. Tool
    50-43
    Round 3

In a tough, bitterly fought battle, Tool clawed tooth and nail at the javing juggernaut for the double-crown, but 9000x TWLJ MVP Ease led all players with a clutch 14-9, ahead of strong performance from Zidane (12-7), Claus (10-9), Steadman (7-9), and Shaddowknight (7-10), as the Powergonians managed to hold Tool off for the TWDT-J title.

Apok's lag troubles finally caught up with him after several troublesome rounds, maxing out his !lagouts whilst 9-2 and being subbed out for Kim (6-8), while the rest of Tool fought valiantly but couldn't get past Power as Spawnisen (9-10), Zizzo (8-10), Lee (5-10), and Tripin (5-10) fell just short.

    HOT: Ease, with a game-leading 14-8 performance.

    ======

    TWDT-B Finals

    Sour Milk vs. Kusoge
    20:00-18:31

Sour Milk's 6-Star Rab (154-78) led all spiders, ahead of Trasher (137-108), Cranium (133-92), Skepsis (117-67), and 5-Star Lena (117-74), as the Milkmen edged out the Bad Gamers by the narrowest of margins.

Mattey (2.9 RPD), thanks to being mugged, fortuitously was able to show for the first time this season, carrying Bonghits (3.1 RPD) against an aggressive spider line, and bringing them to the promised land ahead of Mikkiz (51-9), who, despite 3 Teks, looked shaky at times and didn't play his best game, as Dreamwin outplayed him slightly.

Kusoge's 6-Star Bueno also led his squadron, with a campy but effective 150-74, alongside team captain Undercut (140-84), Srapined (146-88), TheWadoRooster (117-77), and 5-Star Eren (101-121).

menelvagor (2.4 RPD) lagged out early on, leaving Kusoge strapped at the #8 position, forcing Jerome (2.8 RPD) alongside 3-league superstar JAMAL (2.8 RPD), as they struggled against the best shark in the game (and the best 6-Star shark to boot.)

Dreamwin (51-8) once again terred masterfully, staying alive in the clutch and doing just enough to push them over the edge.

This was a total bloodbath as both teams were virtually deadlocked in kills at 745-740. I asked MVP mattey what he thought of the game:

2:Ogron> Mattey im writing HoN whats ur assessment of the game
2:Mattey> bonghits is an actual irl idiot that is too big for his britches, their spiders were stronger, but jerome is so bad that we came out on top because menels isp is as garbage as he is in shark
    2:Solacer> LOL
    2:Undercut> LOL
    2:Solacer> great analysis mattey
    2:zidane> lOL
    2:Ogron> can i quote u on that?
    2:Mattey> yes

    There you have it!

HOT: Mattey, whom I suspect was jumped by Cranium so he could show, as the current TWLB champion sharked in an incredibly tough game and was ultimately the difference in a 20:00-18:31 game, gaining crucial cram minutes and buying BongHits time to re-attach.
NOT: menelvagor, for an abysmal 2.4 RPD in the first 8 minutes, and pm'ing Undercut not to sub him despite repeated lagouts and wasting precious seconds on the clock.

    ======

WB of the Week: Lasenza, with stellar 9-8, 16-6 games to sweep the 8-0 TWDT-D juggernaut Power!
Jav of the Week: Zidane, with strong 12-7, 8-10, 12-8 sorties to lead his team to the TWDT-J title!
Baser of the Week: Mattey, who once again proved sharks win championships, becoming the only player in Subspace to currently hold the TWLB and TWDT-B titles.

HOT OF THE WEEK: Ease, with a 13-7, 10-10, 14-8 performance across the Finals to clinch Power the TWDT-J title, and strong 14-10, 12-10 outings in TWDT-D.

    Top 10 Players List

These were the Top 10 players in every league during the TWDT 2014 season, skewed more heavily towards playoff performances than regular season ones, but factoring in both.

    Top 10 WBs:

    1. Apok (Tool)
Apok clinched the TWDT-D regular season scoring title with a blistering record of 106-71 (15.1 kills per game) in 7 games, and helped the Tooltimers clinch the warbirding title with a strong 11-7 in the Finals.

    2. Ease (Power)
Ease finished #1 in WB rating in the regular season with a ridiculous 2.48 KDA and led Power to a perfect 7-0 regular season, going 12-8, 7-10, 11-9 in the Semi-Finals, and 14-10, 12-10 in the Finals.

    3. Lasenza (Tool)
The Fiercite clinched the Finals with a 16-6, and carrying the load for his time in the Quarters and Semis with Apok absent, with a 15-4 in the Semi-Final.

    4. JAMAL (Kusoge)
JAMAL was an absolute monster for Kusoge in warbird, going 20-10, 12-8, 17-10 in a Semi-Finals loss, and 12-6, 5-10, 19-9 in the Quarters to help them past a recalcitrant Kamikaze in a razor-tight 50-49 Round 3 victory.

    5. Racka (Power)
Power dominated TWDT-D all season, thanks to the tandem of Racka and Ease, as Racka closed out the season with a ridiculous 258 Rating, helping Power go 8-0 before losing to Tool in the Finals, where he went 12-10.

    6. Turban (dun vs me)
Turban was a beast during the regular season, dropping a ridiculous 20-8 vs the eventual champs, and a 16-10 vs Tool again in the Semi-Finals, outkilling his entire team.

    7. aprix (Tool) 6-Star
The jav had a quiet regular season in TWDT-D, but was a monster in the playoffs, providing a strong 4/5 with Lee that they had been initially lacking, going 9-7, 7-3 in the Semi-Finals, then 12-8, 9-7 in the Finals.

    8. Cres (Sour Milk)
Cres had a strong regular season in a lackluster Sour Milk line, finishing 12th in WB Rankings for the regular season, and playing even better in the Quarter-Finals, going 14-10 playing down 4v5, and 11-10 in Round 2 as they fell to eventual champions Tool.

    9. Tripin (Tool)
Tripin was solid for Tool all season, and capped it off with a great 15-9, 8-8 Finals performance.

    10. Lee (Tool) 5-Star
Lee started off the season 29-46, slowly developing into the best 5-Star warbird in TWDT, going 7-6, 7-5 in the Semi-Finals, then 6-8, 8-8 in the Finals, helping them clinch the title. Kudos!

Honorable Mentions: Ricko (Kusoge), Auger (Kamikaze), maketso (Kamikaze) 6-Star, Iron Survivor (Power), Rab (Sour Milk) 6-Star, bwp (Power) 6-Star, delectable (Kamikaze).

    ------

    Top 10 Javs:

    1. Ease (Power)
Ease dominated the regular season, going 80-48 across 7 games with an average margin of victory of 9 kills, then winning the TWDT-J title with 13-7, 10-10, 14-8 performances in the Finals.

    2. Apok (Tool)
Apok finished #1 in rating during the regular season in Javelin, going 92-54 across 6 games, then going 6-10, 17-5, 9-2 (lagout) in the Finals as Tool narrowly fell to Power.

    3. Turban (dun vs me)
Turban finished #3 in overall rating across all 3 leagues, dominating every ship, and javelin was no exception, as he did everything humanly possible to clinch the Semi-Finals, going 12-9, 18-9, 16-10 as Tool just barely got by them.

    4. Zidane (Power)
Zidane had a ridiculous 203 Rating in jav before jumping into the playoffs and dropping 12-8, 8-10, 12-7 scores in the Finals to help clinch TWDT-J.

    5. aprix (Tool)
aprix was a behemoth during the regular season, leading Tool with a 63-47 across 6 games, good for 4th in the league with a 222 Rating. He did heavy lifting the Quarters and Semis without Apok, going 16-6, 10-5, 13-8, 12-10, 8-7 to carry them into the Finals, where he was inexplicably replaced after a bad round 1 and wasn't seen again.

    6. Wax (Oblivion)
Wax kept Oblivion's playoff hopes alive with Rendered, finishing 5th in the league with a 207 Rating despite being on a bottom-tier team, dropping a fantastic 60-48 across 6 games.

    7. Steadman (Power)
Steadman had a solid regular season for Power, upping his game in the playoffs, dropping a ham-fisted 18-10 Semi-Finals alongside a 9-6, then going 11-8, 12-10, 7-9 in the Finals to claim his first TWDT championship.

    8. dreamwin (Kusoge)
Dreamwin finished behind only Apok and Ease during the regular season, with a stellar 252 Rating, playing all 7 games and notching 81 kills. ------

    Top 15 Basers

    1. BongHits (Sour Milk) 6-Star
Bonghits was ranked #3 in value adjusted shark stats for the regular season, and continued to provide TWLB quality sharking at a 6-Star price, letting Cranium play Mikkiz in terr, himself or Mattey in shark, and maintain spider power with three 7+ star players, as he clinched the TWDT-B title on Sunday.

    2. El Pedo (Kamikaze) 6-Star
El Pedo dominated the regular season, finishing #1 with 227 Rating, averaging 113 kills a game with a 2.51 KDA and a margin of victory of 6.1 as his team went a perfect 7-0 in the regular season, before getting knocked out in the Quarter-Finals.

    3. JAMAL (Kusoge)
JAMAL led his squad to the Finals after finishing in the Top 10 rankings in shark during the regular season, with a superb 3.03 RPD average. He also dropped a season-high 162 kills in spider in the Semi-Finals to knock behemoth Power out, before narrowly losing the finals by 1:30.

    4. dreamwin (Kusoge)
Dreamwin played excellent during the season, finishing #2 in Rating, then outplaying both enemy terrs in the Semis and Finals, falling just short of victory despite going 63-8, 51-8 back-to-back in the final two games of the season.

    5. Diakka (Sour Milk)
Although he missed the finals, Diakka was a monster all season for Sour Milk, averaging 117 KP30M and a team-high 132-87 in the Semi-Finals to carry his team to the promised land.

    6. Mikkiz (Sour Milk)

    8. Kate Upton (dun vs me)
Kate Upton had a strong regular season, finishing #2 with 124 KP30M and a 2.68 KDA, before cooling off in the final weeks and the playoffs, but still managing a solid 134-69 in the 38 minute Semi-Final loss to Sour Milk.

    11. Mattey (Sour Milk)
Despite missing the entire season, Mattey showed up just in time for the Finals and MVP'd the series to hijack a place on the Top 20 Basers list with another classic performance as the Milkmen edged out their opponents 20:00-18:31.

    12. Solacer (Power)

Vatican went a perfect 5-0 during the regular season with the highest unadjusted rating, and an astounding 3.10 RPD -- the highest in the league -- before unexpectedly missing the Quarter-Finals, where his team lost. Showing up is half the battle.

    17. Pressure (Oblivion)
Thix posted one of the highest terr ratings during the regular season, putting up huge numbers behind an underperforming team, including a 62-5, 3 Tek performance in a 15:00-14:58 loss to 7-0 Kamikaze.

    18. Cintra (dun vs me)
Cintra, in contrast, put up huge numbers behind an overperforming team, finishing #1 in Terr Ratings with a huge 376 Rating, and a margin of victory of 7.1 minutes per game, before getting knocked out in the Semi-Finals with a 59-9 performance.

      TWDT 2014 Season Review

Zizzo's Tool swept the TWDT-D Finals 2-0 as the Fierce-led trio of Apok, Lasenza, and Tripin led a much-improved 5/6 Star tandem in aprix and Lee, as 5/6 continued to prove they could hang with the big boys all season long in warbird, taking out 8-0 Power, as Zidane's team suffered the same fate as Ease's 8-0 Thunder last year, whilst Kamikaze was upset in the Quarter-Finals in base after going 7-0 two weeks ago, Revenge lost after being 8-0 in TWLB two years ago, and the New England Patriots 18-0 is still fresh in Bostonian memories losing in the Super Bowl. The moral of the story: DON'T ACE THE REGULAR SEASON. Peaking at the right time is everything.

Tool once again faced off against Power in the TWDT-J Final, where better starters and stronger 5/6s proved too much for the Tooltimers as the might of Ease and Zidane pressed against them, clinching it in three rounds.

In basing, Sour Milk narrowly edged out Kusoge by 20:00-18:31, mirroring the 20-18 finishes in both Semi-Finals, as Cranium and Mikkiz repeated as TWDT-B champs. This was the most competitive league by far -- Power, Kusoge, Oblivion, Kamikaze and dun vs me all had very realistic chances of taking the title, with Power and dun vs me getting edged out in the Semis, Kamikaze going 7-0 during the regular season, and Pressure'sOblivion holding threats like Cripple, Shayde, Kess, and Porkjet. In the end, however, Sour Milk proved up to the task.

I think this was a pretty fun season, and the playoff games were almost all competitive, with most of the basing games being decided by less than 2 minutes, and almost all of the jav and wb games going three rounds, including a Round 3 50-49 thriller in the TWDT-D Quarter-Finals where Kusoge knocked out Kamikaze.

Power dominated the regular season, but their almost 100% showrate of their starters during the regular season really made it seem like a bigger gap than it was, as their lineups remained the same but opponents put forth better lines in the Semis and Finals. Still, they had the best odds since 2011 dun vs me at a triple crown, yet had to battle Tool down to the wire just for 1 title, which shows the level of competition was good. Kamikaze was stunned in the Quarters, losing all three matches to Kusoge, who beat out Oblivion for the final playoff spot by the skin of their teeth after going 1-5 during the last two weeks of the regular season, while the all-time TWDT wins leader, Hulk's dun vs me, was swept out of the Semi-Finals by dueling juggernauts Tool, and base-centric Sour Milk in TWDT-B.

This was the only TWDT season in history without a single forfeit, which kept people interested and continually showing, as 173 persons played during the regular season (out of 292 signups), upped to about 180 total including playoffs.

That said, it took an undue amount of effort to get that many players, I probably messaged over 500 people to get most of those 292, and about 180 participated. Given that there was no real recruitment effort for TWDT 2013 and they got similar numbers, you can tell that the mismanagement of the 2013 campaign and the continual decrease in Trench Wars population is really eating onto the number of players available to play in TWDT. You used to have to bat away players with a stick to keep them out of TWDT 5-6 years ago.

I'm hopeful for a TWDT in 2015, but I have a feeling it's going to take another monumental effort just to maintain the current levels of participation, or a change in format. I'm pretty drained, not sure I want to run this again next year, it's a lot of work. It would have been impossible without Turban, the other TWDT ops, and the legions of hosts, so again another big thanks to them for all their efforts.

If you have ideas/suggestions about the 2015 campaign, check out the other thread I made on the subject.

Congrats to all the winners, thank you to all the Captains and players who took part, and good luck those of you entering TWL!

Bah Claus trust you to only include my crappy first game.. You missed off my week 7 game (still in regular season) I should be GP:2 Kills:20 deaths: 12 KDA: 1.67, I'll leave you to figure the rest out :P

Week 7 games are not included in Shark, Terr, and WB stats since I did them after Week 6.

They are updated for the Overall stats, and Jav/Spider include Week 7. I'm too lazy to post the updated version of Shark/Terr/WB -- even though they boost my terr rating up a lot
