Even though you seem to be good with numbers, you got the probabilities very wrong on this one. I would say its more like 1:30 or less.

    Thanks!

Uh, yeah, you're probably right, I didn't really do a calculation, and given my javelin skill level (represented by this chart below), my expertise on the subject matter is dubious at best.

I'll defer to you on the matter and assume 1:30 is closer to the actual probability. Given that we were underdogs in jav I think we really needed to win the first round to have a shot at advancing, so that play was pretty brutal. Oh well!

Thanks for all the hard-work you put in to write this. Was a good read.

The turning point of the game was at 45-45 when Zidane shot a bomb to kill Dreamwin on 9, and instead of delivering the knockout blow and giving Baratheon a crucial 46-45 edge, it bounced directly back from the intersection of the corner of two walls, keeping him alive as he escaped in a 1 in 100 play.
Even though you seem to be good with numbers, you got the probabilities very wrong on this one. I would say its more like 1:30 or less. Additionally, if the bomb hit where zid intended I probably wouldn't have died to that since I had almost full energy. Although, Geio was coming hard from behind and zid probably wouldnt have had backed out if the shot hit - I would have been 1 bullet away from dead.

    Video

I will record the TWDT-D and TWDT-J Finals, but I'm looking for someone to record the TWDT-B Finals.

Unfortunately, all three of our main video recorders (Turban, NL>Trigger, and myself) are in the basing final.

If someone could step up and record the basing final I'd appreciate it. Let me know!

Congratulations to Terrorist (TWDT-D, TWDT-J, TWDT-B), Paddington (TWDT-D, TWDT-J), and Baratheon (TWDT-B) on advancing to the Finals!

Terrorist will look to become the first squad to triple crown TWDT since dun vs me managed the feat in 2011 this Sunday. Many have attempted the climb, but only one has ever reached the summit, with Power (2015), dun vs me (2013), and Top5Squad (2008) reaching all three finals, but unable to achieve the coup.

Silence was shockingly ousted from all three leagues after a stellar season, no thanks to losing much preferable Semi-Finals matchups due to the zone going down and likely costing them the #1 seed. Commodo was once again an apt leader, but will not be able to defend his TWDT-D and TWDT-J titles from 2015. Blooms exited TWDT-B in an unsurprising loss to Terrorist, after a season plagued by no shows, yet would have easily made the TWDT-J Finals had they not lost a heartbreaking 50-46 Quarter-Finals round 3 to Paddington the week prior. Maketso performed admirably as Captain of his squad despite a string of bad luck with a poor draft spot and his first pick not able to play all season.

One of either Baratheon or Terrorist will become the first squad in TWDT-B history to repeat as champion, as they meet in the playoffs for the second time, with Baratheon getting the better of them in the 2013 Quarter-Finals.

Terrorist will also be seeking to tie or surpass dun vs me as the winningest TWDT team of all-time. Here are the current leaders:

    dun vs me (4)
    Power (2)
    Terrorist (2)
    Silence (2)
    Ruby (2)
    Top5Squad (2)
    Thunder* (2)
    Freq Out (2)
    Spiral** (2)
    Baratheon (1)
    Patouf (1)
    Tool (1)
    Soul Milk (1)
    Candy King (1)
    Team Randedl (1)
    Team Anon (1)
    Team A2M (1)
    Woot (1)
    Burger Nipples (1)
    The Jonah Takaluas (1)
    Propane Nightmares (1)

    * Combining Ease's titles as captain of both Thunder and Underground
** Combining Burnt's titles as captain of both Spiral and Revenge

Thanks to everyone for participating. Hope to see you all next Sunday for the Finals!

    Player of the Week History
    WB of the Week

    Week 1: Ease (15-9).
Ease outdueled Geio in a thrilling 1v1 finale, clinching the W for Silence.

    Week 2: Best (18-9)
Best made his TWDT debut in style, massacring Kamikaze with a legendary performance.

    Week 3: Raazi (15-9)
Raazi stunned a crowd of 50+ onlookers as he took on two Paddington warbirds 1v2 down 48-49, slaying them both and clinching a critical victory for Fire, and wowing spec chat with his superior play. Kudos!

    Week 4: Shadowmere (16-9) and Vys (11-2)
Vys was an absolute monster in helping Baratheon clinch their first TWDT-D victory alongside Best, as the duo trampled over Stark. Shadowmere stomped the Kami with the highest score of the week in a 50-28 romp.

    Week 5: Shadowmere (20-9) and 2pacZ (19-6).
Shadowmere was an absolute monster in warbird once again, clutching a 49-49 game on top of dropping 20 kills. Ridiculous! 2pacZ was unstoppable, keeping Silence undefeated in warbird and dropping the hammer on Kamikaze.

    Week 6: Ardour (16-5)
Ardour singlehandedly took down Silence in TWDT-D with a monster game, ending Ease's streak of 26 straight undefeated regular season games in wb. Wowza!

    Week 7: Kado (13-5) and Attacks (12-5)
Attack of the low-stars this week, as Kado led Terrorist over 6-1 Silence with a sublime performance, while Attacks took over a game vs. Stark. Nice job!

    Quarter-Finals: 24 (17-8) and JAMAL (15-6)
24 was an absolute behemoth in warbird, going completely bananas against Blooms, knocking them out with sizzling 12-4, 17-8 performances. Congrats! JAMAL went supernova on Baratheon, with 10-10, 15-6, 10-10 performances as Stark fell just short of advancing in TWDT-D. Sick play!

    Semi-Finals: Absent (16-7) and 24 (14-7)
Absent singlehandedly clinched a TWDT-D Finals berth for Terrorist with a pair of ridiculous 15-8, 16-7 games in round 2 and round 3 to knock Baratheon out, while 24 was immaculate with 10-2 and 14-7 performances to lead Paddington into the Finals. Kudos!

    =========================================

    Jav of the Week

    Week 1:Mean Gene (12-3).
MG slammed Blooms in TWDT-J, leading his team to the promised land.

    Week 2: Shaun (18-10)
Shaun was an absolute juggernaut, despite his team getting trounced 50-39, showing the complete repertoire of javelin skills, and likely finding himself on the radar of several TWLJ squads looking to boost their ranks.

    Week 3: Dreamwin (18-7)
Dreamwin gobbled up Paddington in a tight 50-44 match featuring multiple veterans, posting a Herculean effort which was very much needed to come away with the win.

    Week 4: Dreamwin (15-9)
Dreamwin scored a 15-9 to crush Stark in a massacre, leading Terrorist to a 3-0 this week with impressive outings in wb (14-5) and spider (114-48) as well, and could have very easily been the Player of the Week. Nice work!

    Week 5: aprix (12-7) and 24 (12-7).
aprix led Blooms over Terrorist's TWLJ-quality line with icewater in his veins, leading his team in a 50-43 route. 24 did much of the same, MVP'ing over the likes of Ease, Commodo, and Roiwerk to clinch a 50-42 win over Silence's previously undefeated line. Niceness!

    Week 6: Ease (18-9)
Ease reminded everyone why he's the best javelin of all-time, ripping Stark open like a bag of chips, and devouring them whole with a titanic 18-9 game.

    Week 7: Shadowmere (17-10) and hellkite (16-9)
Shadowmere moved heaven and earth to win over Stark, but fell just short, while hellkite curb-stomped Kamikaze in a 50-47 game to get the W.

    Quarter-Finals: Turban (17-10)
Turban was a javing juggernaut this week, taking Stark out with superb 17-10, 10-8 scores. Nice work!

    Semi-Finals: Tiny (13-6) and Rough (13-9)
Tiny led his squad with 13-6 and 11-9 outings to help Paddington reach the TWDT-J Finals, while Rough went 12-9 and 13-9 to take Terrorist to its second jav final. Nice work!

    =========================================

    Baser of the Week:

Week 1: Cripple (116-39). He got the most amount of kills in the least amount of time this week, leading Stark to a solid victory over Blooms.

Week 2: Mattey (3.1 RPD) and Commodo (3.1 RPD)
For a complete shutdown of a good basing squad, smothering them with a clockwork cram and coming up with a cold-blooded 15-2 win over Kamikaze.

    Week 3: Cripple (161-55)
This was maybe the biggest score in TWDT-B history, and in a 15 minute game no less. Wowza! Stark unfortunately managed to lose the match 15-14, but through no fault of his own, putting up a Colossal performance. Great work!

    Week 4: nosydawg (111-65)
nosydawg managed to outkill the likes of Trasher and Kess in a 15-12 thriller, MVP'ing the game and leading Kamikaze to the upset victory over Fire. Kudos!

    Week 5: Best (104-55)
Best shined in a tough TWDT-B match against a superior opponent, sizzling them for 104 kills when no other player got out of the 80s. Dominant!

    Week 6: Trasher (132-45)
This was an almost must-win game for Fire, and Trasher made the most of a fortuitous zone crash, returning with a vengeance and lighting Silence up for 132 and clinching the W.

Week 7: Mattey (2.9 RPD) and Commodo (2.9 RPD)
The best sharking duo in TWDT right now, they handed basing Behemoth Baratheon their first real loss of the season, and in stunning fashion, absolutely demolishing them 15-8. Yikes!

    Quarter-Finals: Smoking Blue (92-21)
Smoking Blue was a 6-Star monster this week, dropping a scintillating 92-21 in spider to help Blooms advance to the Semi-Finals. Good stuff!

    Semi-Finals: Solace (123-58)
Solace was an absolute monster this week, notching a 123-58, 3 tek game in a hard-fought 15-12 victory, then cruised to a 96-30 in round 2 against a very tough basing squad, as Baratheon reached its second TWDT-B Finals. Congrats!

    =========================================

    Player of the Week

    Week 1: Dreamwin.
Dreamwin is an idiot and not anywhere near as good at this game as he thinks he is, but he performed across all three leagues this week as Terrorist went 3-0, with a 15-9 in wb, 16-7 in jav, and 105-49 in spider, and earned the Player of the Week.

    Week 2: Ease.
Silence was the only squadron to go 3-0 this week, as Ease led the foray through TWDT-D with a 10-9, TWDT-J with a 15-8, and TWDT-B with an 83-36. While the warbirding match over Fire and basing match over Kamikaze were fait accompli, the javing match required both deft skill and aplomb to navigate and come out with the victory over a TWLJ Finals line featuring both talent and synergy in Stayon, Rough, and Dreamwin, and he came through with flying colors, MVPing the match.

    Week 3: Stayon.
Stayon led Terrorist with a superb 14-4 to knockoff Kamikaze in TWDT-D, a solid 10-8 in TWDT-J versus a recalcitrant Paddington, and a game-high 88-32 over Kamikaze in TWDT-B, as his team went a perfect 3-0 this week, leading the league.

    Week 4: Weak and Commodo
Weak was immaculate in TWDT-D this week, notching a 10-0 ace in warbird over Kamikaze, then following it up with an MVP over Baratheon in TWDT-J, sizzling them with a 14-7 outing, going 2-0 for the week and helping Paddington to a 2-1 performance.

Commodo beasted a hotly contested 50-39 TWDT-J match, amassing a Herculean 15-6 to clinch the W, then managed a 3.0 RPD sharking a 15-4 massacre of Blooms alongside Mattey, going 2-0 for the week and leading Silence to a perfect 3-0.

    Week 5: Turban and Zidane
While Best also managed a 3-0 on his new squad, Turban felt he had something to prove after being traded for the second time this season, taking down the squad that drafted him in two leagues, crushing Fire with a 10-6 in TWDT-D and a scorching 108-35 in TWDT-B when no one else was even close to 90, while stomping Kamikaze in TWDT-J in-between.

Zidane was also instrumental in leading Baratheon to its first 3-0 week, notching a 10-5 in warbird, a 13-6 in javelin, and a 3.0 RPD in shark as the 4x TWLJ Champion expands his already impressive resumé to all three leagues. Kudos!

    Week 6: Shadowmere
Shadowmere has been knocking on the door of Player of the Week for several weeks now, leading his squadron to a 6-0 over a fortnight (alongside Weak and 24, as the trio have been producing across all three leagues), including ridiculous 16-9, 20-9 scores in TWDT-D Weeks 4 and 5. He produced a balanced effort this week, with a game-high 13-9 in TWDT-D vs. Terrorist, an incisive 9-8 in TWDT-J vs. a recalcitrant Blooms, and a 48-13 terrier performance in TWDT-J in a stunning 15:00-14:41 upset in TWDT-B. Kudos!

    Week 7: Mythril
Mythril did everything humanly possible to will Fire into the playoffs, dropping a massive team-high 16-7 in TWDT-D, a team-high 9-10 in a tough loss in TWDT-J, and sharking his team to a 15:00-14:31 against 7-0 Terrorist with a recalcitrant 2.9 RPD. His never give up, never surrender attitude is what competition is all about. Kudos.

    Quarter-Finals: Shadowmere and Zidane
Shadowmere put in a solid performance in TWDT-D, going 9-10 and 10-8 to knock out Blooms in two rounds, then went absolutely fucking bonkers in TWDT-J against a top-tier javelin line, going 19-7, 10-10, and 14-10 to help Paddington advance to the Semi-Finals by the narrowest of margins. Zidane put in an all around spectacular effort across all three leagues, going 14-10, 8-10, 9-10 in warbird, 10-7, 15-8 in javelin, and a stalwart 3.0 and 3.1 RPD performance in shark, to help lead Baratheon to a perfect 3-0 week. Kudos!

    Semi-Finals: Dreamwin and Zidane
Dreamwin led his squad to a perfect 3-0 this week, with 8-10, 11-8, 8-6 performances in TWDT-D, 9-9, 15-8 outings in TWDT-J, and showing his versatility with a 35-2 in terr and 70-34 in spider in TWDT-B, as Terrorist reached all 3 finals. Zidane's squad only reached one final, but he was singular in his efforts to help Baratheon, going 10-7, 13-10, and 7-10 in warbird, 12-10 and 15-10 in javelin, and taking out a titanic basing squad and top-tier sharking duo with 3.1 and 3.0 RPD performances in shark to knock out Silence. Epic!

    TWDT-B

    Terrorist vs. Blooms
    15:00-2:12

As expected, Blooms didn't put up much of a fight with a depleted roster, and a full Terrorist line easily swept them 2-0 in what no one would call a competitive match.

Dreamwin (35-2) terred this snoozefest ahead of DOWNFALL (3.2 RPD) AND nokkonen (3.0 RPD).

Stayon (75-21), NL>Trigger (74-24), Hellkite, Henry Saari, and Stung spidered.

aprix (20-5) terred for Blooms in front of Oder (2.6 RPD) and Valker (2.8 RPD), with Okyo, Ricko, Smoking Blue, Maketso, and Chrona in spider.

Blooms forfeited the second round with an illegal lineup, as Terrorist strolls into the TWDT-B finals to take on Baratheon.

    HOT: Stayon
    HOT: NL>Trigger

    ---

    Baratheon vs. Silence
    15:00-11:53
    Round 1

This was the match everyone was waiting to see in TWDT-B, as the two basing behemoths vying for the title went head-to-head, and the first match was everything spectators could hope it would be, producing an exciting and hard fought 15-12 match that Baratheon narrowly clinched down the stretch.

Ogron (44-5) terred ahead of Zidane (3.0 RPD) and Rodney (2.8 RPD), who aptly sharked the Semi-Finals and kept a voracious Mattey and Commodo at bay -- no easy task, given the latter had been the best shark duo all season.

In spider, Solace (123-58, 3 Teks) was an absolute juggernaut, leading the always impressive M_M God (100-49) and tek-god Turban (85-65), while Mr. Homo (72-68) continued to smash under like he has all season, alongside new addition Geio (72-48), who has been equally impressive.

For Silence, Zizzo (44-13) terred behind Mattey (2.9 RPD) and Commodo (3.0 RPD), as the recalcitrant duo did everything they could to push the pace and creak havok in enemy territory, while Zizzo did... Zizzo things.

Excellent Free Agency pickup pavement (119-64) continued his strong play alongside the always impactful Ease (109-68) and perennial TWLB mainstay wbm (71-67), as they clashed with Solace, Turban, and M_M God over, while Tripin and Wazzaaa did their best to contain Baratheon's under.

    HOT: Solace
    HOT: M_M God

NOT: Zizzo (44-13). I've seen a lot of good performances from Zizzo in base. This was not one of them.

    ---

    Baratheon vs. Silence
    15:00-3:35
    Round 2

By contrast, this game was an absolute massacre. Not having Tiduz (who was an excellent diamond-in-the-rough find) hurt Silence, although given how many breaks went their way (getting Mattey in the 6th round and him showing up 100%, finding Tiduz in a package, nailing FA in acquiring pavement, etc.) one couldn't expect to hit on all their gambles.

Ogron (29-0) aced his third game of the season and second of the playoffs, terring in front of an unyielding Zidane (3.1 RPD) and Rodney (3.0 RPD).

Solace (96-30) once again led all spiders, but Turban (78-46, 4 teks!!) was arguably even more of a beast, pushing relentlessly, DOA'ing sharks, and managing 4 teks, while M_M God (74-27), Mr. Homo (64-40), and Geio (66-29) continued their excellent play.

Zizzo (26-10) quarterbacked ahead of Mattey (2.9 RPD) and Commodo (2.8 RPD), while pavement (70-46), wbm (69-53), Ease (50-50), Rasaq (40-39), and Tripin (53-52) spidered for Silence.

With that match in hand, Baratheon moves on to the TWDT-B Finals!

    HOT: Turban
    HOT: Solace

2:Best> i saw mattey twdtb with zizzo for over 1 hour in 2 rounds and then call him the dookiest terr of all time
2:Mattey> i didn't say he was the worst terr
    2:Best> o
2:Mattey> i said he was the dumbest
    2:zidane> LOOOOL
    2:Best> LOL

    TWDT-J

    Paddington vs. Silence
    50-40
    Round 1

Emperor PalpaTiny (13-6) led his post-Lasik stormtroopers across the battlefield, as 24 (12-8), Best (11-7), Weak (12-9), and inmate (1-10) darth mauled Silence 50-40 round one.

Ease (10-10) and Zizzo (10-10) played strongly, but despite their efforts and good sub-ins from Mattey (6-6) and Commodo (2-2), sub-par outings from Rasaq (3-10), Roiwerk (6-8), and Tripin (0-4) doomed them.

    HOT: Tiny (13-6)
NOT: inmate (1-10). We're all prisoners in our own minds, but thanks to TWDT rosters being locked your teammates are prisoners to your terrible play.

    ---

    Paddington vs. Silence
    50-37
    Round 2

Bigmon Best (13-9) led all players with a blisterin' bonanza of bullets, knocking out Silence with help from 24 (10-7), Tiny (11-9), Weak (8-5), and Holy Ship (4-6).

Team Captain Commodo (12-10) did his best to hem the enemy assault, but didn't find much help beyond Rasaq (10-10) and a super-sub from a super-spud in jeffpotatoes (5-4), as Zizzo (6-10), Ease (2-7), Roiwerk (0-3), and Mattey (0-6) were all terrible.

Paddington seized control of their TWDT destiny this week, leaving nothing to chance and going 2-0, 2-0 in TWDT-D and TWDT-J and reaching both Finals.

    HOT: Bigmon (13-9)

NOT: Mattey (0-6). Usually when there's a 0 next to a 6 in jav leading to a substitution, I think of someone else. I don't wanna say who, but their name IRL is Oswald Featherbottom III, they get a 3% discount on Playstation games at work, and their tongue is so far up a certain Dudgeon caps' butt they can speak Finnish.

    ---

    Terrorist vs. Baratheon
    50-46
    Round 1

Rough (12-9) led Terrorist in this tightly contested round one game, as hellkite (9-9), dreamwin (9-9), Stayon (10-10), and DOWNFALL (6-9) managed to hang on for the win.

Wax (14-10) had a game-high 14 kills, Zidane (12-10) was unyielding, and Geio (8-10) did what was expected, but Baratheon was let down by sub-par play from Ogron (5-10) and subterrean-par play from Turban (4-10), who did an excellent job TKing me twice to go along with his 4-10.

I'm sure if we had gotten to 49-46 the zone would have went down.

    HOT: Rough (12-9)
    HOT: Wax (14-10)

    NOT: Turban (4-10, 2 TKs).

    Terrorist vs. Baratheon
    50-40
    Round 2

Dreamwin (15-8) led his team to victory in the second round, ahead of Rough (13-9), Stayon (9-5), Hellkite (6-8), and DOWNFALL (5-10), as Terrorist successfully advanced to the TWDT-J Finals.

Zidane (15-10) was a monster, matching Dreamwin blow-for-blow, but couldn't prop up bad play from Turban (6-10), Geio (6-10), Wax (5-10), and Ogron (5-10), as Baratheon was eliminated from javelin.

    HOT: Dreamwin (15-8)
    HOT: Zidane (15-10)

NOT: Ogron (5-10). With Baratheon eliminated, this sadly ends one of the historically great seasons in TWDT-J by a 6-Star javelin. Let's take a moment of silence to honor the fallen, and look back at Ogron's season...

Although, hey, I had 0 TKs the entire season, so there's that...
