TWDT-B Week 1 Hot or Not

[Trasher]

This week provided some great drama in the form of an upset and appeals, as porkjet the shark was unable to show up for Ogron’s Baratheon due to issues with the TWDT arenas. Subsequently there were only 5 games played, as Baratheon vs BREXIT was postponed to next Sunday.

Zidane’s Power and Delectable’s Alf started strong with 2 wins, and Jessup’s Paladin took 2 predictable losses. Dreamwin’s Terrorist went 1-1, Ogron’s Baratheon and Attacks’s Brexit ended up with 0-1 record.

Terrorist wins this game!

Paladin was, somewhat predictably, missing their terrier Mohammed and dice duo wbm/Sphinx. Terrorist took advantage and promptly stomped them.

The only real basers who bothered showing up for Paladin, Spezza (57-43, 1 tek), and Oderus (13-79, 2 tks, 2.8 rpd), were not able to hinder Terrorist’s inexorable onslaught. 6* DSB-graybeard Magnum Size (7-86, 1 tk, 2.7 rpd) filled in as Oder’s shark partner.

In the absence of Dwopple and WAR, Terrorist was comfortable with letting dreamwin (13-77, 3 tks, 1 tek, 2.9 rpd) and bellflowers (15-73, 1 tk, 3 teks, 2.8 rpd) shark. Zizzo (30-2, 2 teks) handled terrier without much trouble.

HOT: Kess (84-26). Puta with the most kills.
HOT: World (57-9, 1 tek). Nice rec hunting there, buddy.
NOT: Mohammed, Sphinx, wbm (no show), and Jessup for drafting them.

POWER wins this game!

Power outkilled Brexit by 168 kills and won with a comfortable margin of 8 minutes and change. This match can be summed up as a duel of poor dental hygiene between the limeys Ricko (75-24, 2 teks, top 3 British wb) and Attacks (60-62, 1 tek, top 3 British wb), with Dicko emerging victorious over the carcass of the dandy Attacks.

Brexit’s had some difficulties in deciding who should shark in this match, as Commodo (8-96, 4 tks, 2.8 rpd) took turns with 3 different partners: mcvicar, olde and omega red. How fussy.

Since Aprix was a no-show, Power opted to ter Vehicle (26-3) and shark beam (7-71, 3 tks, 2.9 rpd). Pressure (27-7, 1 tek) was under much pressure and was not able to carry the rest of his team.

ALF wins this game!

This game, and the struggles of Baratheon’s #1 shark porkjet, was the source of much controversy, as Alf managed to somehow steal a win vs the favourite basing team in the tourney.

Alf fielded a somewhat unconventional Finnish shark team of turban (30-109, 3.0 rpd) & nokkonen (18-117, 4 tks, 2.7 rpd), which worked vs poopjetless Poopratheon’s markymarkmorrow (17-119, 3 tks, 4 teks, 2.9 rpd) & hellkite (28-114, 9 tks, 2.8 rpd).

Reaver (49-10, 5 teks) faced off vs Ogron (35-13), whose pride took a hit as he was painfully pressured into submission without possessing porkjet’s proper protection.

HOT: Cripple (147-62). Standard Cripple rec.
HOT: turban (30-109, 3.0 rpd). Stepped up in shark, repped hk’s horrible mine to seal the deal.
NOT: porkjet (no score). Did not bother to show up.
NOT: hellkite (28-114, 9 tks, 2.8 rpd). His final mine as the score was 14-14 was promptly repped into his own team, and thus he earns a spot here despite a decent rec.

Terrorist was in trouble, playing a man down at the start, but fought back fiercely once they managed to field a full line-up. It was not enough, however, and Power took the win.

Vehicle (30-2, 1 tek) continued in terrier with zidane (10-108, 2.9 rpd) and beam (7-99, 2.8 rpd) handling shark duties.

Captain Dreamwin (48-92, 1 tk, 1 tek, 2.9 rpd) started in shark and switched to spider later. Bellflowers (4-99, 2 tks, 2.6 rpd) and Havok (3-44, 1 tk, 2.8 rpd) tried to protect Zizzo (44-9, 1 tek), who kept greening bursts every 20 seconds. The absence of Dwopple and WAR might have been the deciding factor in the outcome.

HOT: okyo (104-42, 2 teks). Great performance by the 7*.
HOT: Vehicle (30-2, 1 tek). Vehicle, having warmed up in terrier in the previous game, did well.
NOT: Trasher (86-44). Couldn’t get much done.

I did ?find on wbm and Sphinx before drafting them, both had been active.. why these players refuse to show up is beyond my control. I've messaged them both with no replies. I tried to put together a good basing line and it would be if players showed up. I feel for spezza and oderus because you are correct saying we were decimated....hopefully this week will be better.. I'm throwing oil on spezza's wb and jav ships as back up though Onward and upward this Sunday.. heh ........

I know you did your best in this draft, I'm not singling you or your team out for no (malicious) reason.

Hopefully they show up in the coming weeks and you guys can put up more of a fight in basing. Your team has the potential to be good, it just requires everyone to show up, which is apparently not an easy task.
