Happy Trash-Talk Thursday. A couple of qualifiers before you judge this:
1. My view on what wins games is probably different from most people.
2. I didn't watch any games but the ones I played in. All of these takes are based on stats and my game knowledge.
3. This preview was written with the intention to create interest for the league. Its TW in 2019, we have to get excited about something.
4. This was typed on my phone, so formatting isn't great. May or may not fix later.
Week 2:
Terrorist 15-10 Power
A matchup between two heavy hitters, as both teams feature veteran 10* captains accompanied by a slew of experienced position players.
Terrorist is anchored by ?go base any-shipper Major Crisis, while Power is attaching to either Heaven or Ogron. I give the terrier edge to team Power, as either of these guys focused can be a championship winning terrier.
Terrorist features a risky 16* combo in shark, which they've somehow gotten to work. Oder plays the part of experienced shark leading Sprackle, who has finally started spending more time repping instead of attempting to cheese with shrap. Power is running a 20* combo- two of the strongest sharks in the league, with a history of working well together. While this definitely gives them the edge in shark, Power faces a large star deficit in spider.
Without going into details on the mob of green ships, I give the strong edge to Terrorist. The proven DTB strategy of drafting lower star sharks and terriers to allow for stacked spider lines makes it clear that Terrorist will not only out kill Power, but will turn that spider advantage into a dominant flag room presence that will lead to an easy victory.
Pure Luck 7-15 Demacia
All Demacia games will be hard for me to predict, as I overestimate my teams abilities, and Nipple Nibbler has changed up half the roster.
Tiny terriers the leprechauns, against last season's terrier sweetheart bitsaver. While Tiny won't need to be carried by his team, he's not at bitsaver's calibre.
Neither team will field a truly elite shark, as Rab and Paradise take on WillBy and Poni. Skill-wise it's a wash, but my hot take here Is that Demacia's sharks post a better RPD and more kills.
For the greenships, Pure Luck will be overwhelmed, as an even-stronger-than-last-week Demacia spider core outkills by 75+.
Spider 15-12 Treyway
Spider, boasting an inflated 3?10* line, wins through controlling long flagroom battles, while Treyway, makes up time in a few, longer crams.
Mikkiz doesn't die, and I'm not super sure who treyway will have in terrier. Strong advantage Spider.
Both teams field a strong shark line, 18 and 19*. All sharks will have fair performances, but the advantage falls with Hulk and Morph, each aggressive and posting high kill counts.
My initial take was that Spider wouldn't live up to their name, but upon review of last weeks stats (midoent? is that you?), the advantage lies strongly with team Spider.
Halo 15-1 Criminal
Not too much to say about this one. Cripples squad looks pretty stacked, and Afghan didn't quite get all the pieces put together for his basing line. 62* wont cut it against the Halo line, as Criminal snags fewer seconds of flag time than their collective star rating.
At this point, I wont be going into as great of detail for each head to head. See above for relative position strengths.
Terrorist 15-6 Pure Luck
Terrorist continues undefeated in DTB. Tiny's team comes up a clover-leaf short of a good time.
Spider 15-10 Power
Power falls victim to spider's overpowering spiders, despite a minor advantage at shark.
Halo 14-15 Demacia
Demacia takes advantage of week 2 team discomforts, and manages to slip by Halo. Look for Jamal and Mr. Homo to make the difference against WillBy and Poni, and perhaps flip the scores above.
Criminal 3-15 Treyway
Treyway finally catches a break, after facing 3 top teams in their first three matches, and take the game decisively. Hot take: Criminal gets more than 1 TeK.
