My reasoning was that in past seasons the draft order was decided immediately prior to the initial draft. Captains did not have time to make deals swapping picks, so it never happened. However, trading FA picks has always been possible. In hindsight, I shouldn't have allowed it because there's too much uncertainty surrounding who will actually be available in the draft and what the actual value of a trade will be. But, I cannot remove it now. Therefore, trading FA picks is allowed.
With that said, I am still considering this trade but have serious reservations about whether Flew feels this trade will truly benefit his team. Currently, as an outsider, it appears this trade is an overreaction based on what happened week 1. Flew picked Ra and beam rounds 3 and 4 for a reason. For Flew to then toss his third and fourth round draft picks for players that were chosen round 8 and round 11 doesn't make much sense to me, even when factoring in the fourth pick in the FA draft. Normally, even if a trade is slightly unbalanced, it should be approved if an argument can be made that it makes both teams better. Yet, based on Flew's draft order I'm not confident that's the case.
