  • TWDT-D Week 1

    GAME 1
    FriedLiverAttack vs Power
    50-48

The start of the season proved to be very exciting with several very close games that came down to the wire. Captain Zizzo was in his element, reverting back to his old self to lead his team to a great start. Game was tense with a final 2v2 between Trasher/Zizzo and okyo/Bluff, but a critical KO of Zizzo on okyo swayed the momentum in FLA favor. Bluff did what he could by knocking Trasher to 9 deaths, but the teaming of Trasher and Zizzo proved just too much for him to handle. Nevertheless, excellent effort by Bluff and also an amazing comeback from Andy Steel from an abysmal 1-5 start to respectfully breaking even.

    Hot: Zizzo (14-9), Bluff (13-10)
    Not:

    Stray vs Treyway
    46-50

Sometimes some games are determined by which top rank warbird can outplay the other, which in this game was very much the case. 10* RaCka started this season off with the first 20+ performance, taking matters into his own hands and logging a whopping 4 KOs. Two deadweight performances coupled with two fair performances came down to which 10 could pull through at endgame. And after RaCka took Ease out of the game, he didn't look back all the way to an exchange kill with Alextron to seal the victory.

    Hot: RaCka (24-6, 4 KOs!), Ease (19-10)
Not: Unlimited (1-6), Ixador (3-10), renzi (4-10), Zapata (3-10) Not really the showing you want to see out of the captain.

    Spider vs Terrorist
    47-50

The third of the set of great close games also went the distance for 20+ minutes. Spider had the initial lead thanks to a red-hot 8-3 start from ro. However, Terrorist were far from finished as they gradually found their footing and their pace, led by excellent outings from saiyan and nowon. Minus the bad performances from the 7*s, when one of your 9* is the first one out in your lineup, that might have been an indication of the momentum swing for Terrorist to earn the win.

    Hot: ro (17-10), saiyan (15-8), nowon (15-10)
Not: Terminator 17.5 (3-8), Kassius (1-6), Paradise (6-10) Out in 6 minutes? You're on the list, buddy.

    Giants vs Pure Luck
    34-50

It seems the team that hazards the risk of picking Iron seems to struggle at the very start; and the showing Giants put together proved no different. The game was nothing short of a blowout, as nobody on the prior team survived past 10 minutes. Ra proved to be a bad alternative for this game, along with Rasaq who could not get anything going for him. Spooder web was the only bright performer and the only one logging 10+ kills, as the dynamic Singer/Tripin duo combined for 29 kills and made short work of their opponents.

    Hot: Singer (16-8), Tripin (13-5)
    Not: Ra (2-10), Rasaq (4-10)

    GAME 2
    FriedLiverAttack vs Stray
    50-34

Coming in place for Sprackle, Kentaro continued his strong performances from last season Spider to torch a disordered Stray team to help FLA initiate an excellent 2-0 beginning to the season. Zapata came out guns blazin' with a 10-4 powerhouse start, but received little help from the rest of his team as they all blew away like chaff in the wind. Back to the drawing board after an 0-2 start.

    Hot: Kentaro (18-9)
Not: Wirah (1-5), Ixador (3-10) Something clearly isn't clicking for the low star warbirds on Stray, up for Zapata to come up with a solution.

    Spider vs Power
    42-50

Bouncing back from a close loss to FLA the previous game, the dormant Paky Dude came out of hibernation to help his team earn a win for a 1-1 week. Bluff continued his strong play from the last game, proving this week he could be the next real 7* best value warbird currently. Flew was the only member to go positive for his team, who finds themselves in an unexpected 0-2 hole.

Hot: Bluff (14-8), okyo (13-9), Paky Dude (12-7)
Not: hellkite (1-6) Stick to jav and basing.

    Giants vs Treyway
    46-50

Powerhouse 10th round pick RaCka continued to show exactly why he's one to watch out for, stringing together a scary 8 KOs across two rounds with 40 kills to boot for a great 2-0 start. The long awaited DT debut of Peru finally came after a complete no-show the season prior, but was unfortunately snuffed out by a horrendous outing by Mr. Turpin. Rasaq shored up his game to lead the way for his team, but proved just not enough in confrontation with the behemoth of Week 1 for an 0-2 beginning.

    Hot: RaCka (16-8, 4 KOs!), Rasaq (15-10), Peru (13-10)
Not: turban (2-10) Got one thing to say to you: ?

    Pure Luck vs Terrorist
    30-50

Saiyan continued his strong play to lead his team to a great 2-0 start as he and beamir combined for 28 to put PL away relatively quickly. Dabram and Spezza (who seemingly has taken Myollnir's starting spot) provided excellent support play, as their team held all PL members to under 10 kills.

    Hot: Saiyan (14-4), beamir (14-6)
    Not: J-B/Steadman (combined 2-10)

WEEK 1 MVP: RACKA (24-6), (16-8) Not much to be said here.
    Mention:
    Saiyan (15-8) (14-4)
    Bluff (13-10) (14-8)
