It's that time of the week! Where we recognize significant contributions from unexpected sources.
First up we have Absurd, whose 18-10 in warbird as an 8.5* more than lives up to his name. Both teams' lines were extremely balanced, which means absurd was one of the higher rated players in the match. However, this also means he didn't have any low stars to pick on- the lowest rated player on the enemy team was only a half-star less than absurd. Though his team ultimately lost their battle against R1p1t1!, absurd's massive rec kept his team in the game until the final minutes.
Usually this award recognizes a single league performance. Absurd made this difficult, as he put on a show in all 3 divisions. In addition to his week's best 18 kills in warbird, he also tied 10* dreamwin with a week best 16 kills in jav en route to a 50-41 win over nightmare and put up a devastating 92-39 with 4 TeKs in spider.
Second we have bike's jav. As a 7.5*, bike's 12-9 draws easy comparison to his 10* teammates who had similar recs. The unexpected third in the three-headed-beast that is Kobe's jav line helped put the nail in the coffin in a 50-43 victory over helmet and kept Kobe in playoff contention.
Finally we have Zapata in shark (7.5*). While I love to disparage low level sharks, it's impossible not to respect Zap's performance. 12-86 with 2 TeKs and a 3.02 RPD played great compliment to his partner, zidane, who put up an even more ridiculous score (17-86, 1 TeK, 3.12 RPD). If this game is any indication that Kobe's sharks have found their groove, then the rest of the league should be wary.
