Yes I must agree that the Nintendo version of NG2 was an excellent game for its time. I don't know if you've heard, but it is coming out this Thursday, but I've been surfing around for this game's reviews and they are very good. Ninja Gaiden and MGS: Twin Snakes are perhaps the most anticipated games this year. The expectations are really high for this X-Box game, and maybe x-box might get that much needed reputation-hike that it desperately needs. As for the Ninja Gaiden series staying with x-box, I am not too sure. I hate to see Nintendo selling out their game labels, they're just digging their own grave. I think everyone has to agree that selling off FF's label was the biggest mistake ever, as people now associate buying a PS to being able to access the FF series. If anyone has played Gamecube's FF:CC, the story is downright confusing (and debatebly, not a plot at all), but the graphics are excellent, however everyone knows that the gfx will be excellent cuz of the GC's video drivers. Getting FF:CC to the gamecube isn't all that bad of a thing tho, GC needs reasons for customers to buy their system. Same goes for Ninja Gaiden, that is why I went off on the FF:CC tangent, just to say that nintendo should be continuing these old series'.

My brother downloaded it today , I played for about 30min. I stopped cause it was boring . The storyline isn't very great. The game itself has many features but it gets redundant very quickly; you just go arround and fight with other ninjas. Well as I said, I barely played 30min so maybe the game gets more interesting after a while. For some reasons, I dislike playing x-box, ps2 or any console :/

Meh I'm guessing you didn't like the original Ninja Gaiden, it's pretty much like that. I'm guessing you didn't like games like battletoads, double dragon, or other similar types of adventure hack slash type games. Not that ninja gaiden for x-box is like double dragon and battletoads, because there are many new aspects to the game that are created because of the large graphics engine the game has to work with.

dudes, NINTENDO does not own tecmo games as far as i know, and tecmo has the right to sell their products to whoever i want, maybe they sold the ninja gaiden product to sega/microsoft whatever long ago.

Who the fuck cares, i'm going to buy it for my xbox, because ninja gaiden rules.

And the sounds my keyboard is making is fucked, like the srpings in my wasd (fps shooter games) keys are fucked.

The original ninja gaiden for nintendo was real old, I doubt they made a contract with microsoft for years and decided to start giving out info just the end of last year, and finally launching the game now. It's just not beneficial to the company. If there was any deal, it was done in these 1.5 years.

About Nintendo not showing any effort whatsoever of keeping the games that they once sold, I think, is a real disappointment to the tru blu nintendo fans. At least they made 1 good comeback with Metroid Prime.

I smell another Shinobi. OOOOoooohhhh Shinobi! You were supposed to be this elite recreation of the Genesis classic. But, oh woe is me, for you were just another overhyped game with shallow gameplay and a bug glitch on level 5 which you sank into the ground, thus making forward plot progression impossible. Oh poor Shinobi, I thought I knew thee well.

Summary: Ninja Gaiden will probably be another overhyped flop with poor gameplay and a vague storyline moved by poor voice actors.

The difference here is that Nintendo actually own the Metroid license. Tecmo always owned Ninja Gaiden. In fact, there was even a port for the Sega Genesis. Heck, Ninja Gaiden was in the arcades before it was on the NES, so it's not like Nintendo even had first crack at it.

Truth is, the only reason all those classic third party games were associated with Nintendo was that they had a dominant market share with the NES. Sega was the only competitor but they didn't get the big name third party games.

There is no reason why companies like Capcom, Tecmo, Konami and the rest should feel they need to stick with Nintendo. Heck, the last Ninja Gaiden game was released in 1991; did you expect Nintendo and Tecmo to have signed an exclusivity contract over 13 years?
