That is incorrect, kazza is used to share EVERYTHING, if you search for legal stuff, trial software etc, It all shows up. Also the fact that there are songs on kazza has nothing to do with the guy who made the program. There are alot of songs on ftp and http servers too... This all comes down to one thing, only the people sharing the files can be sued.

I KNOW , but if you can get into the minds of the creators and see if they did this on purpose so people share illegal files then they will be liable! this is like the 5th time ive stated this!

Please for future posters dont ask me how can we read the minds of the creators, cause the whole job of the lawyer is to provide evidence that proves or pointing to the fact that the creators intended this.

Basicly you have no reason to beleive that it was made for an incorrect use. So with no evidence, you jump to a wild guess.

The fact is alot of law is based on a subjective test, its not impossible to find out what somone is thinking, you just look at thier actions!
So dont give me any BS that in order for justice to work we all have to have esp because if that was true then justice wouldnt be served!

Secondly im not judging anyone im not saying kazaa creators are guilty or innocent, im just saying that its definetly possible for a law suit to happen! and its not ridiculous (contrast to what abrasion said) i just shown a path that lawyers can choose to go! Im not a lawyer and im not in court so why would i need to prove or give facts?

If you find it so hard to grasp the concept of proving intent then here are some examples,
if the developers made the program especially so its hard for people to trace the files from the downloader, if they made the program so its hard for authorites to interfere with it etc anything that is consistant with the fact that they are making dowloaders easy and safer to download illegal content is consistant in proving their subjective intent! See so its not hard!

it's ironic that kazaa isn't even good for downloading anything. check out www.ircspy.com for one, and how about www.suprnova.org . I could go on, and I will, just google "direct connect", "emule", "winmx" and "soulseek". There's an endless supply to these programs and none of their creators can be sued because the programs are legal.

suprnova.org is indeed a sweetass BT site.

you can get anything and everything, movies apps tv shows and music albums. i've pretty much been getting 90% of my stuff from there. and with the speeds going upwards of 500k using azureus, it's quite nice.

And yeah, kazaa is dead.

Read post 16 (maybe im not making it clearer heres further input), the program developers are providing the means, therefore in my analogy kazaa developers are the drivers of the getaway car even though they arent robbing the bank (downloading the illegal songs) they are helping the robbers (you and me) steal money (the illegal songs) as they provide the getaway (the peer to peer software).

If you're so insistant on using this vehicular analogy, the makers of P2P software aren't getaway car drivers, they're driving the city bus. If someone robs a bank, stuffs a bunch of money in their backpack, and hops on a city bus, that doesn't make the bus driver liable for anything. The bus wasn't designed as a getaway vehicle, it was designed so people could get to work.
