Wow that suprised me. It turned out to be the best movie I've seen so far this summer. The battle scenes were awsome, it was funny, and of course they had to make those emotional parts cuz his uncle died and blah blah...
Anyways...It was pretty cool, worth paying to go see it at the theaters.

    My rating, 9/10.

    PARTIAL SPOLER don't READ....

i saw it too, i was impressed at the special effects and some of the fight scenes, but the love etc was pretty much predominate over the actual story of the movie

I didnt care for it, but thats probably because I dont like spiderman, at all.

the special fx were pretty good tho, but in my opinion, I would have to say the movie was way-too-predictable, thats mainly why I didnt like it as much as I did.
Like, there was this ninja who got
ticked off at some people who kept
talking while he was trying to rock
out on his guitar, so the ninja totally
flipped out and sang at them till
      they all exploded!!! (true story.)

I thought it was really really horrible, but everyone else in the theater liked it. It seemed like 10% action and 90% teen drama. I counted 10 heart to heart talks, all of which seemed like they lasted 10 minutes, but probably only lasted five. Even so, I don't want any heart to heart talks in a damn action movie, I want action. If I want to see heart to heart talks, I'll watch a movie with characters that I care about with a script that doesn't suck. Or, if I want characters I don't care about, with a script that does suck (note: I don't ever want this), I'll watch some shitty show on the WB and not pay any money. In addition, I thought the end of the final fight scene completely sucked ass.

not that great... it was so unrealistic that even i couldnt force myself to believe. if it's possible ill buy it, and those things werent possible. he walks into a burning building with fire all around and there is no smoke at all. realistically, he if he had gotten much past the door to the building, his skin would have melted off, and he would be blinded by thick smoke. you can say he has super human strength but the kid survived too. then the part were he stops a multi thousand ton train from speeding off a dead end... where was that train going anyway? and the part where he jumps off the building trying to fly but fails.. that's enough to kill him ten times over. among all this is alot of getting smashed in the face by flying heavy metal and then getting up like it was a light punch.

Yeah, it's almost like it's straight out of a comic book or something.

I liked it. Part of how a person will enjoy this film is in what they expected going into it. If you wanted an action flick, you'd likely be disappointed. Many people would go into the theatres expecting a roller-coaster of excitement or whatever platitudes you want. What a lot of people don't usually see right away is that in Spider-man, Peter Parker is a much more important character than Spider-man.

I'm not sure if that clearly explained what I'm trying to say, so let me explain that point: if you look at the other iconic comic book characters out there, like Superman or Batman, the focus of attention is on their superhero identites rather than on Clark Kent or Bruce Wayne. Their "civilian" identites are far less important than their caped alter-egos. With Spider-man, however, his web-slinging identity is important for the action elements, but it's the Peter Parker persona that actually drives the story. Another example of this is the Hulk, where a balance between both halves, the Bill Bixby and the Lou Ferrigno sides, if you will, is vital to the character. It's not just a DC-Marvel difference though; just take a look at the X-men, where the characters are almost exclusively the "costumed" ones while the people beneathe the tights fade far into the background.

Sam Raimi and the writing staff picked up on that aspect of the Spider-man character and focused more on Peter Parker.

I liked how they incorporated scenes from the movie that are imaginable as comic strip pictures, with all the screaming and guy holding up the newspaper, if you guys know what im talkin about.

I thought it was great; I'm a teen and I like drama, so it fit me perfect. A bit on the long side, but it was well worth the extended playtime.

I loved everything about it. the fighting and CGI were superb and i loved the way sam made it feel like a comic book. The jokes were funny and the evil dead references were great (bruce campbell, hospital scene). Can't wait for 3 where hopefully Venom is one of the villains.

Matt Lauer on the Today! show mentioned in an interview with Tobey Maguire that "with that ending" that they'll "have to make a sequel". Spidey will get the symbiote next ep. That was setup by him losing his powers in part 2. I'm pretty sure Jonah Jameson's son (John jameson, the guy from outer space, which is where the symbiote mystery came from, somewhere in space) might be Venom. Though spiderman might be getting the symbiote, the affects might not take full control, cuz afterall hobgoblin was totally clued in at the end of the 2nd.

Im pretty sure Hobgoblin was not Harry Osborn, i think he was just a random criminal. I remember from the cartoons that Harry Osborn wore his dads costume and called himself the green goblin. Venom on the other hand i think was a journalist for the daily planet. I really hope spidey gets the symbiote and venom and carnage make an appearence but i doubt it because ive read that some guy owns the rights to venom and isn't going to let them use him or something.
