Now, I'm not saying that the things either Saddam or the Nazis did were right, but trials like Nuremberg and this are pretty much just lynchings.

they are temporarily changing their legislation to allow death sentances in Iraq for Saddam, that sucks. A trial is supposed to make sure every citizen gets a fair and equal punishment.

I vote no. It wont be a fair trial simply because the people running the trial are very biased. CNN has even said that they are letting Iraqi's find Saddam guilty as a symbol that they are liberal.
...because saddam would be found innocent anywhere else anyways?

The crimes he commited were on Iraqi soil, so why should he be charged in the United States or anywhere else?

Well, if you want a similar example, Slobodan Milosivec is being tried in the Hague.

The problem with having the trial in Iraq is that it gives Saddam a political stage. Milosivec made his own trial political and got some supporters. This will bring a little instability in Iraq, some Sunni's will cry foul, some shites and Kurds will call for immediate execution.

The US has been against international courts because the proceedings are a bit different than the way the US would like to conduct a trial. Some have argued that this trial will showcase how the US would do such a trial and maybe change the international court. I don't totally understand this paragraph, just reading out what I read in the times.

But yeah, I think it is a bad idea for this trial to be inside Iraq, but closure is needed for those that lost family under Saddam's hands, and that includes a very huge number of people.

it doesnt matter where Saddam has his trials.. the results will be the same

and like wat phrozen said, having the trial in Iraq is a smart move for US.
                      - they show that iraq is independent, alrite by himself now
                      - they can control the court in iraq
                      - they show the world that they are fair
                      1 + 1 = 1
