    I, Robot

    One word to describe this movie: Awesome.

    You have to go see this. Aside from the action and violence, It had a great plot, some twists, and excellent graphic design. I dont know how it compares to Asimov's book, but it brought out some good points in technological advances. Feel free to share opinions.

    How much of it is from the Isaac Asimov stories? I am seriously considering reading them before seeing this film.

            Prolly, if you want to ruin your movie experience.



            Biggest impact movie ruining a book had on me was when Battlefield: Earth surfaced. What a fucking butchering of a great book and memory. I remember being sick that one week when I was 15 and pretty much kept reading those 2 volumes non-stop high on antibiotics and suffering from fever dreams, and it was a blast. Later on I found out about scientology bullshit and a monster called Hollywood.

                Two Movies that are actually better than the books:

                1. Jurassic Park- Crichton does a little too much Delving into science and not enough explination of Characters and how they act under stress.....the movie did that

                2. Fight Club- The book is just utter chaos....which sometimes works....but in Fight Club it's utter Chaos that doesn't revolve.....the movie did a nice job of making the Chaos revolve around itself

                    Not really, since he was asking about reading the book first, and then seeing the movie, and knowing how Hollywood tends to do stuff, the movie will suck compared to the book, so reading the book prior to the movie will probably ruin his movie experience. This way he can see it as quality sci-fi (hopefully).
                    Asimov is good writer and those Robot series had some real depth to them (or it seemed like that then), and no way will they be able to transfer that to big screen.

                        Fight Club is my favorite movie but the book was better. You're lucky the movie dumbed-down Palahniuk's genius so blokes like you could understand it.

                          The Jurassic Park book is so much better than the film, The Lost World too.

                          And by the way, I would much rather a book spoilt a film than a film spoilt a book.
