Ewan, you should see the sixth formers in my school. There is no dress code once youre in college, as long as there isnt any form of offensive slur on your clothes, youre good to go. Practically all the sixth form girls wear stuff with all their cleavage spilling over the top, and very short skirts and pants.

The thing is that most of the girls in sixth form at my school are half decent looking girls, so as you can imagine, all the year nine lads are gawping at them all the time.

Pre-teen girls don't need to dress like sluts. They can wait till they're 18, or at least do it on the damn weekends.

I do think it's disgusting aswell when under 15-yearolds wear those exposing clothes but hey life's a bitch and then you die so I don't care.

And again I ask you, what's wrong with looking presentable? Wear a nice skirt and blouse, a pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt or something else. You don't have to look like a slut with spaghetti straps and hotpants to be comfortable.

I go to a all boys Catholic School......so for us there arent Girls Dressed as Slutty Sluts......but we do have a dress code.....and ours is fairly casual.....Shoes arent a problem....u can wear any type of shoes...No hats....u must wear a shirt with a collar....and slacks with a belt.....and the shirt must be tucked in.....not too hard.....and we find ways around it....like folding the shirt over and stuff

My niece and my nephew are currently living with me, and I've found that, in my niece's case, she doesn't think she can attract boys without dressing scantly clad. I think girls have to realize that there are classy ways to attract guys, and you don't have to go around half naked. Hell, the boys you ARE attracting with those clothes aren't going to last more than a minute anyways.

do you go around the rules just for the principle of rebelling or is it somehow bad to have a shirt inside the pants?

The only skirts I own are too short. No, they aren't like super short mini-skirts, they are mid thigh length, which isn't allowed. And skirts just aren't my style anyway. I just throw on shorts and a tshirt in the dark every morning. I can't wear jeans though because it's waaay too hot for our crappy school with no air conditioning. And I don't wanna change into jeans after soccer practice either.

I think her argument is she doesn't dress like a slut. She's just upset because they don't make girls shorts that are that long, and it's a pain in the ass to buy new shorts. Makes sense to me.

We didn't have a dress code at my school except we had "the fingertip rule" which meant girls shorts should be long enough that if you put your hand at the end of your shorts your fingertips had to touch your knee or they were too short. It was never really enforced and eventually just got dropped because everyone realized it was ridiculous and even the "non slutty girls" were complaining about how they couldn't find shorts that long.

Whoever mentioned tight jeans, that's the way to go. Damn sexy and they can't yell at you for it. I'm not a fan of the skirt. And reading this post over it sounds like I'm a girl, I'm just sympathizing is all!

There was some article in my local paper a while back about some girl in south carolina who was fed up with all the fashion styles in abercrombie and fitch, american eagle the gap etc. that only featured revealing clothing. She decided to start petions for these companies to feature more conservative styles. I don't know what became of it though.

You're coming from one of two views here pandagirl, which one is it:

1. Clothing companies don't make the kind of clothes the school wants us to wear, so the schools should let us wear whatever kind of clothes we want.
2. Clothing companies dont make the kind of clothes the school wants us to wear, and that's not fair to us so we want more conservative fashions in the shops.
