Why wouldn't they? The opportunity presented itself where they can lynch a known townie (or third party) and not have to explain themselves for their vote. Why would they not make that play?? Backwards already addressed this, but his vote was on Halp immediately after game started. The fact that he did not change his vote though, especially considering he was involved in this whole IRL conflict of interest and knows Halp IRL, is actually highly indicative of him being possible scum to me. Especially that combined with his last "play dumb and deflect the facts" post. He may have shot to the top of my scum list now.

I think you completely missed my point. Yes, a day 1 lynch usually is a townie lynch. But, this Day 1 lynch was a townie lynch where scum can just scream "policy
lynch!" as their reasoning and hide behind that. It was a free kill WITHOUT anyone being able to analyze voting patterns on Day 2 of them really having to answer for their vote on Halp... they can all just say "policy lynch" and everyone just seems fine with that. That was a Day 1 scum dream. And the fact that you don't get this simple strategic fact is evidence to me that you're either a) dumb or b) scum who is trying to deflect what I am pointing out, which really can't be argued with.

tbh I think your theories of scum wagoning halp d1 are off the mark, ive RARELY seen scum get lynched d1, us townies are too clueless on d1...wagon unrequired. maybe scum were wagoning if they were trying to protect someone with a high vote count?
