I've actually seen Engine Down live two or three times and I really thought they were exceedingly dull. Absolutely nobody in the crowd was getting into their songs, due to the fact that all their songs are the same tempo, and they played them with no energy whatsoever. It's been a year or so since I've seen them though, maybe they're the best band ever or something now.
If you think Engine Down is good live, you should check out these bands with somewhat similar sounds but that are actually good live:

The Unicorns
