I get that its offensive, but he did it over on this forum, not theirs. They made all their judgements based on how people speak to each other here, which is not only ridiculous, but also hypocritical. I'm sure j can find a negative post by players from every single forum and platform ever invited to that tournament. We talk to each other a certain way because we understand the dynamic of the group after 10+ years of playing.

Besides, if they truly cared about LGBTQ rights, why didn't they let you sub in when you were the one Voth called the F word in the first place? It's just plain hypocricy. They are not LGBTQ friendly for any reason besides appearances, since they literally cancelled you along with Voth.

Thinking about it , 30 may be too big to start. Maybe 20-25 is more realistic but I'm down to try.

As far as mafia universe goes they to me seem cool. I like they are LGBTQ tolerant and inclusive. The thing that did annoy me was that I was not allowed to take voths place and they seemed to lock out our forum completely. The lead up forum post as I remember got hot between me and voth and voth made some faggot comments which the mods saw. I know to many people freely slinging around the F word and calling each other or theirs ideas gay is commonplace within many groups but it is quite offensive to many and they have more than legit reasons to not tolerate it within reason...but anyways... That said, we definitely have some good mafia players here and perhaps we should try to make some peace if we are serious about growing our mafia game participation on this forum as they do have a very good platform to use for it. I'm pretty busy fixing up a property these days and do worry about a totally immersive game . 36 hour days and 24 hour nights or something could be cool. I've made some contacts there myself and declined a few private invites so will reach out. If exalt can too let's see what happens.

At least you get to play. I die N1 almost every game now. I don't even know how to be as bad as some others so that people ignore me for a while, since even not posting at all doesn't stop me from getting immediately killed.

I mean this is part-and-parcel of what I'm talking about. You die N1 like 60% of the time. It doesn't matter the make-up of the teams, who is scum and who isn't, you can be pretty confident of how the general flow of every game we play is going to go. If you don't believe me, go skim the past 3 games.

This is also really going to get me yelled at but: We should also consider why most of the new blood we get to try out our games play once or twice and then never again.

I know I'm being a total buzzkill here but I can't be the only one who feels this way.

Those people have their own clique of players, just like we do here, and they do not like anyone new coming into the fold. It isn't even great play by the vast majority of them. They banned Voth because they are hypocrites, not because they have legitimate concerns. This is what happens when you let another forum make arbitrary rules for the "mafia championship". They literally banned Voth not for his play, but because some snowflakes on the discord disliked past conversations on this forum that had nothing to do with mafia or mafia universe, such as Voth calling someone gay 5 years ago. That's the legitimate reason for the ban.

Besides that, the original guy who ran things when I did it was not the one running things when Voth played. The guy that ran things with me was a good dude. He even had me go on his podcast to explain my playstyle. The grifters who run things in his absence are just not it. Things were dramatically worse in my opinion with him gone. It went from a professional-ish thing to a bunch of whining snowflake 12 year olds who got their way by literally cancelling players like Voth for not being fake nice to them.

TL;DR: It's a good ol boys club, and we aren't in it. I'm tolerated, but I'm not a member of their online country club.

What's so confusing here? I'm not complaining about activity or lack thereof. It's a common tactic to vote the quieter people when there's no other info to go on. This wasn't outside the realm of what happens in every other game. I never truly complained about anyone's activity.

I don't equate post count with activity.

This is going to make me sound butthurt but I don't know how else to phrase it: There are a very limited number of players on this forum who ever make plays. I count maybe four, being generous.

The rest of our players have become more of a jury where they log on, read 14 pages of two people arguing, pick a side, the end. Lather, rinse, repeat. Is this "playing" Mafia? Yes, absolutely it is, but only just barely.

Going into any new game, you can be confident that the same select people will be driving the discourse, determining the early voting patterns, sucking the oxygen out of the room.

Me saying the game was "17 pages of two people fighting and 8 pages of me saying the same thing" isn't a knock against anyone's activity. What I was trying to do was maybe encourage some people to speak up more with their ideas and theories and for others to perhaps allow a little space.

I'm not trying to call anyone out and I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm just saying that, for me, these games have become less fun as us collective players have settled into certain "play styles." Like I may not know whose scum, but I definitely already know how each phase is generally going to go.

Those people were trash though. It was legit hard to read Voths game posts. He can be hostile at times, but I think we all would be after watching some of them "play"
