  • Anyone got a 17" TFT Monitor ?

Atm I have a 17" CRT, it came with the PC... but because I use it so much I think i'm gonna have to invest in a TFT to save my eyes.

I don't want to downgrade to 15", but anything bigger than 17" seems to cost loads more. So i've decided I need a 17" TFT. ..But i've never used one before, so i'm gonna need some advice.

What monitor do you have? What do you reccommend? Anything I should look out for?

    thanks for your help.

TFT's dont refresh as quickly as a CRT, so u knida get a trail behind stuff, not tht good for gaming, unless u buy an expensive one.

I have a Hitachi CLX174 17" LCD. I love it! Works just fine with games, no trailing (16 ms). Mine was one of the cheapest models when I bought it.

PREDATOR_FNM WHAT MONITOR DO YOU HAVE?

Its frustrating to write these lines after every post^
I'd hope there would be another way..like some automatic system that fills them itself after every post.

TFTs with Refresh times under 20ms are very good for gaming, make sure it is. Most I have seen are around 16ms.

I have a NEC 1700 17" tft. Its really nice @ 16ms, plus if youre moving to college, its a space saver. I got mine for $400 (about 300 pounds) at BJs.

I think i have a 17" ctr monitor right now. I used to have this gigantic 500 lb monitor that had a max screenres of like 2000x1600 or somthing like that. it owned when I played tw because I could see practically the whole base on my screen.
Like, there was this ninja who got
ticked off at some people who kept
talking while he was trying to rock
out on his guitar, so the ninja totally
flipped out and sang at them till
                    they all exploded!!! (true story.)

Just imagine their 30" or Dual 30".
Sure it'd be about 7000 dollars, but MAN.

Dell TFTs are very very nice, and if you buy refurb you can usually get some pretty good values. Just make sure EVERYTHING works within the first week of purchase.

My monitor not only kicks more ass...it was free. That's what you get for picking up other people's trash. Its only problem was the retards that threw it away didn't know it was out of focus.

It's a 19" Sony CRT. I have no complaints what so ever about it.

                            Check out ebuyer.com Rab.

Prices on 17" have been coming down recently and the low end ones will go under £200 (inc. VAT) soon.
