New Season of Hockey Zone Beer League

Signups are underway for Hockey Zone Beer League Season 6! Beer League welcomes anyone who wants to play, and prior HZ experience is not required. It's a great way to learn (or re-learn) how to play HZ, get to know people, and skate on some space ice.

Games consist of three 12-minute periods, and typically last about an hour. This season, there are 10 teams to choose from, including 8 North American teams playing games that start from 9-11pm ET, and two European teams playing games that start from 4-6pm ET on weekend afternoons.

You can read all about the new season at https://rshl.org/. It includes several rules changes, especially for veteran HZ players. We have made further refinements this season to incentivize captains to give non-HZers more playing time.

To apply to join a team, simply go to the Beer League 6 Rosters page, select a team, and click "Apply to join". Plus, if you're not on a roster and a team needs players, you can go into HZ during a game, and be added to a roster quickly and get in the game in just a few minutes!

We hope to see you in HZ. Cheers!

PM RaCka, Violence, Alastria, or Alas+ in game if you're interested or need help.

Committing to play every game isn't necessary, show up and play when you can. There will be about one game per week.

There's been many trench warriors playing in beer league before, and a team of trench warriors has even progressed into our main league (lizird strikirs).

My team is one of the euro teams, Weekend Warriors, and we will play about half of our games on Sundays at 6pm eastern. Anyone is welcome to join, regardless of ability.

If you don't have a login for the https://rshl.org/ website then go in hockey zone and type ?signup password on the alias you want to play on.

To get to hockey zone from trench wars, you can use the interzone portal, but it sends you to the old hz server, so you have to type ?go hz and then type ?go dev
If for some reason you can't see the new server in the zone download lists, you can manually add it with these details:
    Zone: SSCE Hockey/Football Zone
    IP address: 34.86.179.61
    Port: 8501
