Truly a wonderful uplifting movie. I felt the same way I felt after Big Fish, just so much happier than I did going into the theater. I had the pleasure of going with my wife, and I guess it's a better movie to see with your significant other more than anything else. Zach Braff, whom you may know from the Scrubs (TV show) writes, directs, and stars in this movie. It was a wonderful first big picture movie for him, and I feel all in all it was well scripted and wonderfuly captured. When I heard he was starring and that he also wrote and directed this, I went to the movie with little expectations from him, seeing as he plays a total clown in Scrubs, but I was blown away by him and Natalie Portman's acting. To top this movie off, it has a wonderful uplifting soundtrack, that I personally enjoy, though I'm fairly open minded when it comes to music anyways.

Deffinetly a pleasure to see, one of the only movies where I've sat through the credits to listen to the music and just let the movie absorb. So grab your best gal/guy and head down to the nearest theater that plays it and enjoy!

I saw him on Letterman when he was doing the rounds promoting it. The clip they showed was comical genius. I hope it screens down here. Some of the more interesting arthouse films never get a shoe-in on my shitty island, instead opting for the big budget flops.

Best movie i have seen in ages. Went out and watched it again the very next day. Wes Anderson has a rival now.

Btw the credits song is Frou Frou - Let Go.
It's the song also played with the teaser. I'm going to go out and see this movie again when I get another night off from work.

I don't mean to be a cynic, but I didn't think it was that great- Natalie Portman's character was pretty shitty, for one. It certainly doesn't match the pace of the best movies of the year so far, even when it's firing on all cylinders.

Though I left the theater with the same attitude I did with Big Fish, and though I love Big Fish probably equally to this movie, I don't regard Big Fish as a movie I like to see over and over again, as I have with this movie (even though I've seen Big Fish more than a couple times now). Perhaps it's just the length.

Big Fish was the worst movie ever.

                    nm. Jumanji was worse.

Very good movie, I like to think of it as "Lost in Translation" meets "Scrubs."

P.S. Shade, I think I laughed harder at the Aquatic Life preview than I did during Garden State.

After seeing Garden State I got the soundtrack. Frou Frou has been on loop ever since. That song is pure gold.

I've seen the movie and got the soundtrack. Supposely he has alot more Sundance Films, but you have to do a lot of researching to get information on that movie and be lucky if someone has that on illegal downloading sites.

I think I enjoy films nowadays that doesnt get that big screen attention. These movies makes first dates a walk in a park because afterwards your a lot happier and you can go to a cafe and just discuss afterwards. Makes dates easy with movies like these. Well for me anyway...

I mostly was trying to get across the idea the similar nature of the movies. That said, I found Garden State much better than Bottlerocket. I'd say its easily as good as Rushmore or Royal Tenenbaums. I enjoyed it more than either of those movies, but that is strictly personal taste.

Anyway, it's still in the same vein. Thats the main idea of this post for people skimming.
