Yeah, MC2 had much much better gameplay than NFSU, so if this new one has real cars and stuff, that's awesome.

Exactly, I hate idiots talking about NFSU like it's hot stuff. Nowhere near as fun as MC2, and the supposed " leet upgrades " NFSU had weren't that cool, IMO.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

DUB is doing to Midnight Club what Def Jam did to wrestling. The 2 games are different beasts, sure you can draw your comparisons saying that they're both racing games, game X is better than game Y. But, both games are targeted to 2 different audiences.

Midnight Club 3 is a game that is directed toward the car lovers who want the "bling bling 20s and spinners". While NFSU2 is directed toward the import tuner culture people. But, if you wanna try to compare the 2 series, here's how it goes.

Controls: In a racing game, tight controls is the first thing that you want. You can have great visuals, maybe some new additions to the genre, but without the tight handling, your game will goto shit (see: Street Racing Syndicate).

Midnight Club 2 had controls that felt more like an RC car over an actual vehicle when played next to Need for Speed : Underground, which still has arcade-like turning, but is far more realistic.

Cars: In a racing game, you have cars. Think of it as your "Character Selection". You want a variety of different characters with unique personalities and styles that will have at least one character for everyone. With cars, this is no exception. Ideally, you want to have real-world cars, a variety of them, and some way to make them your own (colour schemes to stickers or whatever).

Midnight Club 2 is the first street racing game to offer the choice of driving a motorcycle against cars. The only drawbacks are that all of the vehicles are fake and/or "look-a-likes" to real cars. That, and when you take your cars, you can't make them YOURS. NFS:U, on the other hand, gives you free reign to create a car that is just yours. Do you want a pink car cause you're ... wanting one? GO FOR IT! Do you want a blue car that looks just like the one in your drive way? Why not? Its your choice to make the car you want. And then you can add on as many different body kits, spoilers, scoops, stickers and decals that can make your car uniquely yours. And on top of all of that, you get licenced, real-world cars made by today's top car makers. NFS:U has Midnight Run by 5 car lengths in this area.

Your "World": Midnight Club 2 gives you a whole city to wreak your gearbox filled havoc in. Need for Speed, on the other hand, has you going from race to race in a fictional city that doesn't feel like an actual city, but then a race track with lots of pretty lights around it. But, that is all gonna change with Need For Speed Underground 2. You'll have a sprawling city full of people to challenge and different shops to purchase upgrades and accessories from.

All in all, it comes down to personal taste. Are you an import tuner or in for some bling bling? Both games do racing and they both do it well. With word of real-life cars for the Midnight Club 3 its gonna be a close race to see who's gonna come out on top. With Burnout 3 already for sale, this appears to be the #1 racer of ALL TIME right now.

Midnight Club 2 : 4/5 (needs real cars and better lighting effects)
Need for Speed Underground: 4/5 (needs a free roaming city and no more "drifting" ... its boring)
Burnout 3: 5/5 (I didn't go over this game, but you can find review on the internet about this exceptional racer that hardly gets the attention that it so rightfully deserves. This is arcade racing perfection)

The mods were bland, repetitive and trite along with the car designs and graphics of the game. I didn't expect the racing to be great either (drifting was the only slightly fun part of the game) but I at least thought they would spend more time working with the mods. The game just seemed rushed to me, like they were trying to make a deadline instead of trying to make a really great game. I can understand what you mean about MC2 and NSFU being in different leagues, but NFSU still doesn't (IMO) meet the grade for it's own genre of street racing.

NFS:U's single player is gonna be much better with the 2nd installment with even more parts and paint schemes and vinals and shit. Just bigger and better, especally with the huge city you get to play in now.

Here are some screens for Midnight Club 3

This is one ugly ass car .... this is definately something I'm not making in this game.

You can see there are some japanese imports in this version. But they're definately not as prevalent as in the NFS:U game. OOh.. and there's a Saleen Mustang. Online, prepare for me to kick your ass in it

And this has to be the one car I'm most excited about seeing. <3 Vette

I've been having some quality time with Burnout 3 : Takedown. Damn, its been said in reviews everywhere, but I truely believe it. This is the best racing game ever, period.

Graphically this is beautiful. The sparks flying everywhere, the smoke and dust picking up from the breaks and dirt. All of the cars have ridiculously high damage modeling from tiny dents to huge pieces flying off. And, using many graphical tricks this game looks faster than any other game I've seen before

Gameplay wise, this is smooth as silk. Not a bit of slowdown except on the PS2 version which can get a tad bit slow (barely, not by much at all) in the Crash Mode when you get like 50 cars in one huge bunch. With online play (free on PS2) you can talk trash with up to 5 other opponents in racing, crashing, team crashing, and road rage modes. And yes, this has headset talk support.

My favourite part of the game, if you live in the Los Angeles Area this guy should be recognizable, is the DJ for the fictional "Crash FM". If you can't quite figure it out or don't live here, its Stryker from 106.7 KROQ. He's gotta be one LA's top 5 listened to DJs at least, in this area, with others being Ryan Seacrest and Big Boy. Stryker is the host of the game, he gives you info on how to play, and tells you about the events coming up.

Lots of games, lots of tracks and lots of destruction this game definately deserves a 5 out of 5.

On a side note: in Juiced, I will destroy you in my Ford Focus, Predator.
