I didn't find Chevelle to be all that great, in my opinion. But, I did try going back to oldies and crap, like listening to the 2 local classic rock stations here in LA. But, then I realized, you're not getting away from the repetitiveness of modern music, but just going back to the repetitive old music. Remember : in oldies, you don't get new music except every decade or so, and that "new" music is just old stuff you listened to already.

When me and my friends went to Best Buy today, one of my friends bought the "Vitamin R" CD from Chevelle. By the way, he's Bi.

I wish they could have named "Vitamin R" "Rydilin" like they wanted, that would have been alot better.

Vitamin R is a badass song btw.

I ran across them few years back while I was searching for bands, and the singer sounded (or tried to sound) way much like Maynard on that first album, so I didn't bother to follow up on them. Way too much unoriginal shit during the nu-metal years

But it all comes in such a nice neat package!

Seriously though...there's only so many new things a certain genre of music can offer. Praise the differences that some people are able to make from the older music, it's not easy trying to sound different when so much great music is already out there.

I don't really think they are really much of a selllout, but I am starting to think the rock industry is getting repetitive. Thats why I turn back to more classical rock then the new stuff. I usually go through these times when I choose different types of era of music. Just this summer I've been a huge fan of acoustic guitarists/piano bands. Just my input on rock today.

I'm a big Chevelle fan, and since most of you probably think CHevelle is some sellout band, I don't consider tehm to be. Their lyrics are great, and so is their music. Their last CD "Wonder What's Next" is completely different than the songs tehy released for it, and I urge you to check it out. Also their old CD Point #1 is awesome, completely raw, some of their first stuff.

But this about their newest Album "This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)"
listen to 30 sec samples of each track at www.chevelleinc.com

Just thought I might say something for a band I like alot.
