wow rabbit, u played diaspora or u just know what it is? if so who were u? i loved that game, see this isnt a ss clone and i dont think its like infantry.
about a year ago, a game called diaspora came to a chaotic end when the staff ran out of funds or something and cheating went berzerk. some of the players decided to make there own replicas and spin-off's, like xiaspora and rillaspora, and this. unlike the first 2 this is not an exact replica, it is sposed to be much improved with a staff that actually cares about its players (the old ones didnt do anything about cheating and never released new patches.). anyway, the already close knit community stuck together over a year after their game died and are about to have a game again. (the other two 'sporas' havent been as successful as diaspora, that one would have 200 players on at any given time whereas the other two might have 30.)
one other thing, its much more social and close knit than subspace, u dont actually fly, u jump from node to node (which is not boring at all, contrary to what u are probably thinking) and gain power and fame within the community. by the way, my name was Gopher3_SE, i was in black nova, if any of u played it.Ripper>cant pee with a hard on

ITS NOT SS. there are two things that SS and this have in common: space, and the time it was released.
this is a diaspora spin off, diaspora came out about when subspace did. in diaspora though, u have to make money, buy ships. when u lost a ship u might have to trade for a week just to get it back.
in subspace there is no war. there are squad duels. in diaspora u fight wars and your guild all gets in to their war ships (cause there are trading ships and war ships) and try to find the enemy in the node system. u dont actually move around like subspace, u jump from sector to sector. in subspace all the ships have about equal importance or strength, in this one ships range from 100 energy and 1 gun with 5 damage per shot, costing 6,000 dollars to a 28 million dollar ship with 16 guns that do 40 or 50 damage each and has 3600 energy.
in subspace its mean to TK. in diaspora its mean to PK. (kill someone for entertainment or money.) i guess its also mean to TK, but it never happens on accident. these two games are as different as online games can get beside the setting in space.Ripper>cant pee with a hard on
