The major difference you're overlooking Send is that nose picking (or something along those lines) isn't what makes most people minds up about whether or not they want that person to run their country, while looking at how clean someone is (drugs, alcohol) might.

I think the point Paul was making is that it's important to distinguish between someone's qualities as a person and their qualities as a holder of office.

Certainly Hitler was very strong personally, he had great willpower, he did not indulge in alcohol, drugs, or promiscuous activity, he suffered many setbacks and persevered, whereas say FDR was not necessarily as great. But Hitler the Fuhrer of Germany was alot worse than FDR the POTUS, perhaps because Hitler acted upon the problems he had, and FDR didn't.

He didnt. He attacked in May i think, but the crusade lasted longer than he thought so winter came before he had taken Moscow. And thank god for that
