Did anyone here try Guild Wars on the free test weekend? I played it a bit, but unfortunately never got around to playing it with a few people that I was going to play with.

It seems pretty cool for the little bit I played. Not as good as I expected, but pretty fun for a game like this. If you haven't heard, it's kinda a MMORPG but you don't have to pay per month. You just buy the game and you can play it online. It's not a true MMORPG though, since pretty much all of the exploration areas are instanced (kinda like Diablo 2 and I guess WoW uses this a lot) which means that you get your own seperate copy of the areas for you and your friends so there is no looting and monster spawn camping and whatever.

I was also happily surprised that it runs well on my computer. I don't have a very good videocard, but I can run it at full settings (no antialiasing though) and it runs butter smooth. I can't say that about many other games.

The game ofcourse doesn't compete with World of Warcraft etc but it's still damn good for what it is. I will be buying it on Feb 1st.

i played it, I was a necro/war and got up to lvl 18. I really like this game because it's so similar to Diablo 2 which i loved. It's a very simple game in that the learning curve for everything is relatively low. I thought the graphics were amazing. i've never seen graphics like that in any other MMORPG and i also had everything running at full settings and it didn't effect the gameplay at all (my computers sort of old). The style of the characters and places were also very similar to that of Diablo 2. If this game were coming out this month or this year i'd get it but i can't wait till february so i'm going to get World of Warcraft instead, i can only handle one mmorpg at a time.

If you pre-order Guild Wars, you can beta test on the weekends after this public preview up until the game is released in Feburary.

I'm not 100% sure on what weekends, but its after now.

Guild Wars was pro, I had a lvl 20 E/MO. All I can really say about the game is that it had a unique travelling system, and in the beginning it took us 20 minutes to figure out how to enter a mission. We kept trying to find a white mantle to give to the guard to open the door... Did anyone try fighting another Guild?

I had 1 "Guild War" it was cool. The games last about 2 minutes tops, lol. I spent most of my time in the Gladiator Arena. And I did a few missions with Lunar. I'm a Necromancer / Mesmer lvl 17

I had a nice lvl 16 Monk/Warrior, unfortunately my videocard doesn't like Guild Wars and usually decides to crash during missions

I playied this weekend Guild wars Bete event. It was great fun, especially when you need to use tactics to over come strong enemies. The PvP was great! I really liked it! I even got myself some fame, 9+. Not that much, but I only playied for a while.

I had my char at lvl 13, EM/MO, real nice combo. WAR/MO could be a intresting combo too. Although RA/MO would be nice, or WA/ME,EM.
